She sounds the same in this one panel in terms of humor and speech pattern. Hopefully, she is beyond that sullen phase. 💜

Holy shit, she looks so beautiful! A true fashion model.

I just want folks to know. Saying "Bloody" Doesn't qualify one as an English SLANG expert.
You can say British phrases, that read as English, without using "slang".
But she looks good.

When I said she sounds like herself as far as characterization, I meant her use of bloody. She always used it. Ethnicity notwithstanding, it is in character for her to use the adjective.

Emma? Is that you? Ugh... Seems like bloody is the recurrent british "slang" word for all telephats... She sounds so...generic.

And she doesnt look like the original Betsy Braddock body we all used to love in Captain Britain's series..I think artists should stay consistent in drawing her has she was depicted physically originally back then.. She used to have a long face with an "eagle" long nose. This girl looks like a millenial.

That's the dumbest complaint I've ever heard. First of all, Betsy used to say bloody in either body. Second, newsflash! Artists draws people in their own styles. Literally Everyone Alan Davis draw in the Captain Britain books had long faces, it's not a Betsy thing. It's an Alan Davis thing. Third, she looks like the Marc Silvestri version of the Outback days.

@Unknown LOL , you're right.

Since she is speaking these words, I wonder if she is actually using telepathy here or just need her to look different from Pixie.

@CmX, I was thinking yesterday that just found your new profile photo. However, I am sure that troll that previously accosted you will find a way to be fed no matter what. 😂

I liked the panel. I wonder who is the person she's talking to, though. Jean?

Rahsaan said...

Nah. Doesn’t Pixie have black sclera versus white sclera in her eyes and pointy ears?

randybear said...

Right Rahsaan.

Pixie has pin straight hair, not bouncy and full like British Psylocke's

Pixie's hair is pink, Psylocke's hair is not pink.

Pixie has freckles, Psylocke does not.

Pixie's eyes are marbled, Psylocke's are not.

Pixie has elf shaped ears, Psylocke does not.

Pixie has giant insect wings, Psylocke does not.

Also,
I think she's speaking out loud to someone near her, but the butterfly is her signifying that she's telepathically picking up on what Jubilee is up to elsewhere.

Rahsaan said...

CmX, yeah. Her voice bubble is an audible one; not a telepathic one.

Her ears and back/wings clearly are not visible.

This artist doesn’t seem to draw freckles on Pixie (see the preview pages for this issue).

Psylocke’s exact hair and eye color aren’t exactly consistent through every artist.

Apparently, our woman has a whole new arsenal.

Pix’s pointy ears usually protrude through her hair even when she wears it down. They’re that big and pointy.

Yes, THANK YOU! To me, it doesn't matter how she looks like; Betsy is Betsy.

It's kinda like Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter stories: even though Emma Watson and Noma Dumezweni look very different from each other, both incorporated Hermione's personality traits so well that how the character looks like is irrelevant (in fact, since the HP books are constantly being reprinted with new covers, I wonder - and hope - we'll eventually get covers with Hermione being black. I know I'll buy the books again if they get such covers).
