Yaaaas, Betts!!! Kick their ass with your "new" arsenal. I am really really happy with this tk news. My girl it is finally complete, physically and psychically. (sometimes with tan skin almost like Ororo, but ok)

I love this!!! I have always loved her Telekinesis.

tbh, there's not much of a physical difference between Japanese and English Psylocke. Her look is very neutral.

Less to do with her appearing neutral and more to do with Asian Psylocke rarely being drawn to look East Asian.

Kwannon back from the dead in Madripoor hardly looks Asian at the end of the story.

Her hair is more flowy and big and light purple. Her eyes are like ice violet. While Asian psylocke had long straight also flowy hair but darker, she's also more voluptuous depending on who is drawing her hehe.

Hey guys. If you check out Avengers 700. The new Red Widow looks like she is portraying certain traits of Psylocke's ability. What do you guys think? Could it be Kwannon in disguise.

Sigh-locke.

I hate this.

I really thought we were going to have Betsy going back to telepathy only. And don't get me started on the psychic constructs. :(

😂 at Sigh-locke.

Benjamin, I’m not a fan of the weapons either, but I am glad they have not forced ethnic tropes for an ethnicity that she is not. That being said, I hope they focus on her characterization over these same gimmicks which they’ve been using since her ninja days. The worst telekinetic weapon though was that psychic security system she made during the arc with Typhoid. LOL. That shit was the worst.

@Rahsaan was that the time she had like a danger room boyfriend? I thought that was dumb lol. I prefer her pure telepath with precog abilities with her ninja skills, but I must admit I didn't hate the sword and shield TK construct in this issue.

I don't think the security system was a construct of Betsy's. It's technology, which is able to alert a telepath through a psychic signal. I guess not that different to Cerebro.

It's such a shame that they have gone to all the trouble of clean-slating Betsy and one issue in they've already ruined it with this murky power bullshit.

Wow!! T.k. weapons are back!! Yeey ! I love her t.k. weaponry!! Now this got me excited for the "new" psylocke! That and her interaction with Warren <3

I’m a fan of the TK sword but admit that it can get goofy when they start branching out to stuff like whips. I’m also not a fan of this forced ethnic trope where, now physically British, she all-of-a sudden has a “pink Excalibur.” I would have preferred her to go all Kill Bill and still use katanas.

@Benjamin, I think the security system was a construct of hers. Unless my memory is wrong. Let me see if I can find a summary of that issue online and post here.

@Some dude, I do see your point about the British tropes, but to me they are no more egregious than the Japanese ones. At least with these, we can possibly harken back to all her connections to Roma and Merlyn. Or am I reaching? LOL. I do hate the weapons in general.

To me this is more egregious, and at the very least undoubtedly more forced. Psylocke’s roots with Merlyn and the Hand can both be argued as ethnic tropes, but where this current pink Excalibur really errs is that it is completely unmotivated by story. At least her use of Japanese weaponry was motivated by more than just race, but by her role as a Hand operative. Now it’s just, “she’s British now, so she has a pink Excalibur.”

So yeah, while it’s (currently) a reach to tie this into Psylocke’s connection to Roma and Merlyn, making that actually explicit at least gives motivation, even if it is one trope feeding another.
