Captain Carter #1 Spoilers & Art

Spoilers: After fighting in World War II, Peggy Carter – or Captain Cater – remained frozen in the ice for several years before being revived in the modern era. Now, a woman out-of-time, Peggy returns to England and attempts to adjust to normal life. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom proposes that Peggy takes her place as Great Britain’s hero once again to combat super-powered crime. Captain Carter is paired with a liaison agent – Lizzie Braddock – from S.T.R.I.K.E. to help her. As Lizzie and Peggy get to know each other, Captain Carter struggles with the idea of being a public figure as she’s attacked by Hydra agents.

Picked this up today. Didn't even remember that it was release day. I do love the angular bob cut.

She reminds me a lot of Ultimate Betsy. Just add the piercings, which I loved on Ultimate Betsy.

I always loved Ultimate Psylocke's distinctive eyes.

Question: Did we ever see ultimate Bets before her body swap? I recall that she was an adult who was older than Kwannon, a teen, but don’t recall what she looked like?

Yeah, she's in it pretty extensively before. It's very confusing art though. At first she looks vaguely Asian, but then the art switches to Bachalo and she has lighter hair and is very clearly Caucasian.

She seemingly dies, then randomly shows up later saying she inherited Kwannon's comatose body - who is clearly Asian, also has purple hair, and the cool eyes.

Also, she doesn't display her psychic knife until she's in Kwannon's body, but it seems to affect physical matter, not just minds.

(I'm ignoring 'imposter' Psylocke from the end of the Ultimate universe.)

Proof stacks the 616 Betsy lost her style sense. The other Betsies are dressed for success like this one.

Congrats to the colorist telling the difference between purple and pink.

Already more interesting than 616

@Kiki, you and I are usually aligned on styling, but I disagree here. I think the bob is a good cut but needs some more volume to feel more like Bets. Betsy strikes me as a person who voluminous hair becomes. From her bouffant to the perm she rocked when saving Jubilation from the MSquad to this fresh layered look deigned by Finch below. Don’t get me wrong, she looks great here by kinda plain (which I guess goes with her role as law enforcement). I still think that Finch look though is her best hairstyle to date.

Same. She looked awesome! Such a shame they killed her off panel.

Rahsaan you read me good.

Betsy with less than to shoulder hair length is a Britney meltdown Betsy. She buzzed them after the body swap and for crushing on Scott. I bawled out at that.

Not into the flat bob. The clothes though are super fine next to the playwear the 616 Betsy wears.

Betsy looks fierce with big puffy hair retro coif and modern. Finch ate with this cover. Guilty as charged I'm with you.
