Rid her of that dreadful Captain Britain look ASAP.

Oh Elizabeth and your big ass hair. I love you so much. She looks great.

The new Captain Britain costume for Betsy is too much. Her first was pleasing despite it was less ideal for war. RB Silva produced the best artwork for Betsy's Disassembled costume in Uncanny X-Men. Pair up this hairstyle with her Mahmud Asrar costume. Silva does his best with what he is given.

Her Otherworld form reminds me of an American football uniform lol

And yuck her hair is magenta here.

If you guys are so mad about the outfit, why don't you you file a complaint to the editor of chief for the X-men series. They would always love to hear your response in her role for the X-men books.

Oh I have. Always been polite to Jordan White but he blocked me on Twitter lol they don't care

Colorists have listened to feedback in Twitter. The more see it colored pink we should all politely remind them her hair is purple!

I imagine that's how it'd look like if a natural blonde tries so much to get her hair purple...

Kiki M. Ishola said...

Blonde is the easiest hair color to dye purple. You don't have to bleach your hair first and end with ramen strings. Color lift from brunette and black is the hardest to get the right purple. Yes Betsy is a lucky girl.

@Psi-Girl the Captain Britain shebang is deliberate. Deny Betsy her Psylocke and butterfly is criminal.

except her hair is purple. Zeb Wells and Tini Howard confirmed her hair is naturally purple since she got her body back. She's no longer a natural blonde.

I asked the asisstant editor on xbooks if she could note to colorists to get Betsy's hair right and she ignored me lol

I hope whenever we get a Marvel Legends toy of CB Betsy that the hair is bright pink. Thats the only way people will start to bitch about the hair color because they love their toys lmao

Even with light enough hair keeping up bright hues are quite a pain in the @$$. I kept a deep almost denim blue, or at least tried, for a year & even with the proper pro upkeep & at home supplies it sometimes came out medium or faded fast. Like my hair preferred a more light blue.

Sometimes I wonder are the colorists seeing shades & hues properly on their screens?
There's no industry standard for drawing, inking & coloring your work. Just so long as the team & printers can open the final file. Everyones got their own programs they prefer & I've seen swatch differences between Photoshop, Clip Studio & the ever increasing in popularity, Pro Create. With how many times I've seen Betsy's hair go super bright, even in the asian body, I just wonder is it due to rushing/screen issues opposed to laziness.

Hair time. Dark hair first is to bleach and then dye and light hair takes layers of dye to show. The lighter hair colors you aim the more product you use. Doing it at home alone will fry your dark hair and friz the light. My African hair is textured and the thickness from root to end wanes so I gotta be extra careful with the application and slap on conditioners and go for tints to get what I want. Bleaching is nasty for Caucasian and African hair. Light colors don't take instantly but natural light hair needs less bleaching than dark. Coconut oil is the hoax breakage goes crazy levels.

If that's Jamie in the preview I'm not used to him wearing full clothes.

I'm naturally blonde, on the lighter side, no heat tools or chlorine but deep colors fade fast for me. Even with professional colorist they don't just seem to last. I do like the light pastel blues I end up with. Or the one time I did hot pink & it went a cotton candy shade over lockdown. Coconut oil is evil for my hair. Had a friend with almost jet black hair in high school who would bleach & dye his hair often until he wrecked it & had to rock the buzzcut at prom & graduation.

Yeah thats Jamie and I also miss him wearing thongs lol I'm not crazy about this Mr Sinister-esque look he's got

Yes we should ! :)

Loooove her big ass hairstyle here !! Reminds me of her grandma hairstyle in the outback era ! But the color ruins it for me ... :'(

I'm not so sure since Tini herself has confirmed her hair is purple in interviews. Also it's at least purple on panel in Excalibur lol its just the covers mostly (which more people see than interiors) that have it colored pink.

FSaker said...

This is a fair complaint. For comparison sake, it's like if colorists suddenly started coloring Jean's hair light brown or strawberry blond.

Pink hair color is cool and all (I love Songbird's pink hair locks), but it's not Betsy's hair color.

randybear said...

Agreed! People wouldn't be happy if Storms hair were colored gray or Lornas hair were colored blue.

Kiki M. Ishola said...

Editors and colorists must come out and fess up that they apply double standards.

When colorists mess up colored peoples skin tones they fix it immediately. Storm, Monet in Giant Sized X-Men and Manifold, Frenzy whitewashings in the soon to launch Sword book. I'm stoked for Manifold, Frenzy and Wiz Kid as if my prayers were answered.

And Betsy? When will her butterfly return? When will her personality change to normal and her hair stay lavender purple? Is it because she is a white person? Is it because the Ninjalocke is sexier and Marvel double downs on her instead of Betsy?

Unknown said...

Yeah Tini straight up said that when Betsy reformed herself she made it purple. It's just the damn colorist. Tweet the colorist. If you want it fixed. I remember tweeting Asrar and saying why does the colorist always make her hair magenta/fuscia/pinkish and he liked it. Pepe Larraz colorist has been doing it right on the covers though.

@Finn, that was no grandma hairstyle! It was high-fashion 80s bouffant. Like this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/154459462193418647/

I politely tweeted one of the colorists who always colors it pink and also the assistant editor on the xbooks but neither responded/liked but they've been active on their Twitter since so they're clearly ignoring the request.

Please guys of you see any tweets regarding fixing Betsys hair color please at the least like the tweet or respond in agreement.

Thanks guys!
