Yes! Mike McKone got it. Betsy has blue eyes, Rogue has green and Jubilee brown. A cover of beauty. Del Mundo's cover is witty and sassy I dig his style a lot.
Yeah the blue eyes really pop with her hair and flowers. This is one if my favorite renditions of CB Betsy so far.
And Mundos is really cute too I love the creativity. I like how Rogues costume is colored the jacket is black and body suit green looks really nice. And Betsy's hair looks gorgeous lol
I like the 1st cover, but still dislike the flowers on both sides. However, I will say in this picture, the flowers kinda remind me of the butterfly effect. I wonder if that was on purpose?
C'mon Ben it's a nice cover hehe she looks gorgeous!
I totally pick up these details too and it drives me absolutely nuts but I have to let some small things like this slide. To even said on Twitter he will most likely start drawing the flower crown because it's pretty much drawn like that by everyone else.
It's too bad hes changing his design because Jordan White is too busy tweeting out selfies of his fat ass to give a shit to catch these sort of things.
A bunch of people hating the blue eyes emerges. Will it snowball into a movement against Betsy's British heritage? Will a demand to regress into her ninja intermezzo arise? We shall see.
With that said I pray the blue eyes stick or better poke many out.
Artistically speaking the blue eyes break the purple uniformity on her face, just as the Union Flag costume helps Betsy's hair stand out.
Do we want Betsy to become another color onesie Polaris? The answer is no.
Jean is a redhead and green with yellow creates the perfect balance of colors. Lorna is a greenhead and purple, deep blue and black stress her hair. Betsy is purplehead therefore helped by pink, yellow, red and white. The monochromatic blue bathing suit doesn't compliment purple without the presence of pink, red and white.
Either way if at any point Betsy is revived by Krakoa methods that would mean she would be in a body created from DNA Sinister had already harvested so she would be in her body with naturally blue eyes. The lavendar or purple hair wouldn't be "natural" any longer though
I prefer a telekinetically revved up real broadsword over the psychic weapons she has been constructing for years. Those are gimmicky for me. I like when she only uses her TK to affect physical objects or her own strength. The whips, maces, swords, archery sets made of pink energy are not my cup of tea.
One of the reasons, Remender’s Betsy was one of her best portrayals is that she displayed no gimmicky telekinetic weapons. Same for her characterization in her mini.
I like Betsy to keep her psychic weapons because first Kwannon will steal them at a drop of a hat and second because the psychic weapons make Betsy another level of telepath and telekinetic. The psychic weapons set apart Betsy from Jean.
I don't prefer blue or purple eyes. Blue eyes look natural on Betsy and logical because she recreated her original body. But purple work when she uses telepathy and telekinesis. She can have both.
@Rahsaan I noticed Rictor isn't included on the covers regularly. On the third issue's cover he is starring with Apocalypse. That makes 2/4 of covers with Rictor. I am not worrying though because he is the writer's favorite character along with Jubilee.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

That sword is supposed to be a psychic construct.
I guess no-one can get anything right anymore.
Sloppy.
Betsy's eyes are purple. I have zero interest in anything else.

I love how the swords light gives the costume a nice pink hue over it.
Not a fan of her blue eyes.

And gambit as channing tatun

Also, To stays marginalizing Julio Esteban. I am starting to wonder if Ric is gon' be gone by issue 5.
The covers are beautiful. I'm picking both because Betsy and the team are drawn with great personalities from head to toes.
