Curious. I wonder what him "never being satisfied" means? Will he conspire against Krakoa's council (even though he IS part of the council) and/or against Betsy's control of the Otherworld affairs? That shouldn't be surprising, guys like him, Sinister and Mystique (in fact, that's true even for longtime allies like Magneto and White Queen) always prioritize their own agendas (and X should definitely be aware of that by now).
Nevertheless, these will be curious times for mutantkind. The X-Men living side by side with their enemies, Kitty Pryde becoming the Red Queen of the Hellfire Club (and a pirate captain, LOL), Betsy taking her brother's mantle... many things can go wrong with all these changes - but honestly, the X-Men had been stale for nearly a decade, so it's nice to see any change at all.
Speaking of Kitty, I don't know if you guys saw, but there are some sketches on possible designs of her Red Queen outfit... and they actually look pretty good. Which only makes it weirder that, judging from the Marauders covers, she ended up stuck with the same generic uniform she's had for DECADES...
Hi Psi Girl, I guess if this teaser is any indication it would look like Apocalypse still has his own motives and desires for mutantkind. I'm gonna guess he wont be the most agreeable of the krakoa council.
One more thing with this recent revelation of Apocalypse being very familiar with krakoa and its second half contientent (forget the name) in gonna guess he will think he knows best (cause hes Apocalypse) and he will feel validated with his literal ancient history with krakoa
Ooh, good point; yes, I thought it was Apocalypse (since he's wearing a long jacket that could look like a cape), but it could be Monarch, indeed. That would make sense with Betsy being the protagonist of the book and Hickman explicitly mentioning Jamie in HoX/PoX.
...Speaking of HoX, has anyone read today's issue? I read the spoilers on the X-Books forums and they mention that A LOT of mutants appear there, including Siryn, Dazzler, Surge, Anole and even Broo. However, they make no mention of Betsy being there.
If anyone here has had access to the issue, can you please confirm whether she appears in it (even if only as a small cameo) or not? I mean, I'll be frustrated if even BROO gets to appear before she does.
It's frustrating that these miniseries are a huge turning point for the new status quo for the X-Men and Betsy may end up being completely absent from them. Plus, it seems Betsy's role as Captain Britain is exclusively limited to Excalibur; not only she's absent from the Council of Krakoa, she's also not one of the Captains in charge of defending the island, while Magik and even GORGON got assigned to this position.
Though to be fair, it seems Rogue, Gambit and Kitty are also absent from both miniseries so far (which is particularly surprising in Kitty's case, as she's part of the Council of Krakoa as the new Red King of the Hellfire Club). But while most of Betsy's team got ignored (not counting Apocalypse; I see him more as an unreliable ally), JUBILEE got a cameo in HoX #6. Yep, Jubilee was remembered over Betsy. Nothing against Jubes (I love her, in fact), but that's sad.
I hope at the very least PoX #6 shows her, if anything as a set-up for all the first-wave books of Dawn of X.
Apocalypse had a tough life and gives reason to grow up into a terrorist. He protected mutants with violence and thinks it will save them from humans. Betsy can turn him good or put him down. I'm mixed about the villains in the X-Men teams. The Age of X-Man continues out of that fictional place where Apocalypse was a cult hipster and loved the world. If you make villains good how many new good villains can you come up with that will be as good.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

I think to avoid the initial spoilers but it's good she is finally getting a new costume. What is with the broken nose?

Could that be Monarch (Jamie Braddock)?

Nevermind; someone told me she's not there.
