The art makes me think Psylocke is Kwanon in this XD. God she looks amazing in this issue and beautiful compared to her own story art. Sometimes its almost impossible for me to tell the difference here between Kwanon and British Betsy but I still love this ! lol and been ages since I saw Betsy having something other than tea XD
AKO star, Leah Williams confirmed shes not in Kwannon's body in Age of XMan universe.
The dark hair is mostly associated with "Asian" Psylocke but as Rahsaan has pointed out before her hair was almost always dark purple pre-body swap.
Wasn't until Kwannon was introduced that the English body had lavender hair to differentiate the two characters
BUT I see your point I also assumed she was in Kwannons body when she cameoed in the GenX mini a few weeks ago lol
@CmX, yeah. It was usually drawn kinda dark lavender or straight up purple depending on the colorist, but never as light as they started depicting it after the Kwannon intro.

Especially, whenever they really want to distinguish her from Kwannon who would have naturally black hair versus her natural blonde. Though looking at the colorist from Uncanny Annual 10 where they fight Mojo, I think that dark lavender looks really good on her. When it's too light, that's where people start pretending like they can't tell her and Pixie apart despite the other noticeable differences between the two.

The next book that Psylocke is featured in I hope we get a writer who will delve into some of this great character history from before she was kidnapped by Mojo and Spiral.

Betsy's hair color aside, I'm curious: what are you guys' opinions on this Age of X-Man event so far? Are you liking it?
I wonder if it will end up being like Age of Apocalypse (widely remembered but with a lame story) or Age of X (a great story which most readers don't even remember anymore) - or, hopefully, getting the qualities from both (that is, a widely remembered event WITH a great story)...

So far I'm not enjoying it. I was born after AoA but I get why it's so revisited in a lot of other X-Media. I think Age of X was better than what they've done so far with Age of X-Man. I feel that it was just too soon to launch an X-book wide event when they had made a big deal of relaunching Uncanny & trying to rebuild the X-books after years of being buried by the Avengers & Inhumans.
I loved Betsy's AoX look with the floating knives & mostly everyones costume. I enjoyed the paring of Scott & Frenzy.
I also get the feeling that once everything is reset they'll probably give us 2 main X-books with Scott & Logan leading.
I agree I loved the AoX designs by Mann. When the event ended I remember thinking the 616 designs looked so bland in comparison. Like when it ended Betsy immediately was back in the hand outfit and it was so ughh

Do you think Jean will be demoted from leadership, then? I wish at least one of the books would be led by a woman...
But I wouldn't mind Scott and Logan being placed on different teams. And yes, Betsy's AoX look was brilliant!
@CmX, Frenzy liked her redesign so much she kept it. The Hand uniform is lazy AF. I hope it never returns. The same for the X-Treme uniform which everyone liked. The only worse Psy outfit was that mess with the headband and Crimson Dawn tattoo after she and Jean swapped powers.

Since Marvel is trying to reclaim their early 90's glory in a 21st century way I can see Scott or Logan getting Uncanny. Then the other getting an adjective free X title. Then a third X title, I could picture Jean or Storm leading it.
I'm not the biggest Scott or Logan fan so if my predictions are right, I'd hope for a third X-team book without either or minimal appearances.
I loved Jean in X-Men Red cause it shows she can work without either of them & displays her version of Xavier's dream. Would've liked to have seen Betsy in it or in a guess role but it seems some writers/editors don't like having 2 psionics on the same team often.
I doubt she will go back to the hand outfit. I think they've slightly redesigned it and handed (pun not intended) it back to Kwannon.
Psylockes current costume is heavily inspired by her pre body swap days. they even omitted the magenta sash she had on the majority of her costumes while in Kwannons body.
And yeah the Revolution outfit was always my least favorite look but thankfully it didnt last long. Most of the Revolution costumes were God awful.
@CmX, I'm glad the sash is gone. It was cute, but the Marvel Sash is so overused on so many characters over the last 40 years that it's completely all played out. LOL.
Plus, a sash is a super liability in a fight.
