@Unknown, It's morbid but probably one of the few scenes I've liked so far in Xtremists. Jeanty's still not the artist they should've used for this though. For a morality and ethics tale, his more cartoon style doesn't fit. All I'm seeing is his Buffy art that didn't work for that either.
@Alex, I love these panels too! This is the most interesting we've seen Betsy in a while and Fred ever! Yeah. I wish we had more adult art, but Betsy does look like more like herself than recent art we've seen from this timeline, so for that I am grateful.
@Rahsaan, Yeah at least Betsy does look like original body Betsy. In those panels all I see is Jeanty's take on Buffy & Faith. It got to the point where you could only tell the difference between them thanks to the colorists.
@Benjamin, I got the feeling whether or not it's Scott & Logan that get them back or some combo of internal & external forces that Marvel will be heading into Hickman's big event.
@CmX, I agree. She is mad cute and he got her hair texture right!
I would love to see Davis, Adams, and Silvestri draw an updated Psylocke again now that she is in her own body and has a modern hairstyle. The bouffant was good in the 80s, but I'd love to see what they'd do now. We have seen Silvestri draw her with different hairstyles, including layers, curls, and bangs in her own body. Really curious to see how some of her best artists, like Davis and Adams, would render her today.
I'm divided on the X-tremists approach. Part of me wants them to be real gestapo agents kicking and fighting to utilize Psylocke's strategic and battle skills, while the other part enjoys the romcom aspect of this and how the team breaks away from their X-Man conditioning slowly. The art style tones down the fear the X-tremists should instill to the readers, nevertheless Betsy's hair color and texture is done right. They strike more as sympathetic victims than fixers trying to discover themselves.
It should be noted that the creative team is borrowing BIG inspiration from another dynamic Psylocke had with an alternate universe supervillain, namely AoA Sabretooth. In both cases, the villain is absolutely despicable in the main universe and Psylocke winds up developing a bond their more noble alternates. I like the concept re-visited, but what I do not like is that Fred is little more than a sounding board for Betsy's angst. They need to give Fred some personality other than 'being a good listener to the girl he likes'.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Damn, talk about morbid

Yeah, at least the art matches her current body in this issue.
As for the writing? Hard pass.
Age of X-Man is a non-starter for me.
Wake me when things are back to normal.

Also, I dig this look for Betsy: http://bear1na.tumblr.com/image/178586597334
I agree about the art its not the best but I'm not mad at his Psylocke. I really like how he draws her hair and her expressions are really cute.
So when does that death mask come into play? Was that just an unused design or was it confirmed to make an appearance at some point?

I've been dying to see Davis draw the new Psylocke. I would take a variant cover at the least. Something
@CmX, I will write the X-Office immediately to request.
