The Knights’ expressions remind me of the Scooby gang when they stumble upon a major clue!

Not sure why my comment appeared in duplicate.

Sometimes it just happens. Happened to me too lol. I agree about the expressions. Hoping we don't see much of that.

I want Betsy like a warrior again. I also not thrilled to see the CB suit on her lol.

Hopefully that's from the first issue before she gets her new suit.

We shall see.

Once again, Shogo is in the art... and Jubilee is not. I guess she will be captured by Arthur's troops and Betsy's team will spend at least the first arc trying to rescue her.

And once they do, I hope Jubilee and Shogo will be sent to Krakoa and stay there. Because even if Shogo becomes a powerful dragon in Otherworld, it should be unacceptable to put a BABY in dangerous situations that could have him KILLED (or even badly injured).

Turning Shogo into a dragon was cute in Excalibur's first arc. Keeping the team taking him to Otherworld and having him take part in the battles was (and still is) completely wrong.

All I can think is Helen Lovejoy from the Simpsons.. "WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?" 😂

Vange Whedon mutant and dragon is fit. She got the Tini looks I'm shocked she flew under her radar. Howard is good at name rating something like Haemorage will do.

True, if Howard wanted a dragon, she could use Vange instead. I remember she was one of the mutants who weren't depowered at the end of House of M - and unless I missed something, she was still alive the last time we saw her, right? And well, even if she was dead, a clone of hers could be brought back with the Resurrection Protocols...

The big challenge would be to justify why a lawyer would join a group of heroes in a medieval-like realm (Vange isn't really a superheroine). But it's not like her presence would make less sense in the team than Shogo's. Or Rachel's; yes, Rachel is a superheroine, but her origins are pure sci-fi, very far from the D&D fantasy setting from KoX.

Do you all foresee Bets and Ray using their respectively formidable psychic powers in conjunction, neither using their powers well or creatively, or Ray becoming the team psychic no Bets just using that sword and shield and being the glorified walkie-talkie?

Also, I wonder if we’ll ever see Bets use her psychic knife, psycho-blast, or martial arts ever again when Tini showed she is still capable of both. Or any of the other cool things she can creatively do with her powers? Fan outcry was enough to get her power signature and psi-self/astral avatar back. I wonder what we could do if we kept it up and continually inquired as to why she does nothing with her vast powers. she even used her sword both telepathically and telekinetically in Disassembled. In Excalibur, I don’t think I ever got any clarity on whether she was using it telepathically, telekinetically, or both.

I think the psychic knife and martial arts are gone for good (or at least for as long as Kwannon is around), since Marvel is putting effort into making Betsy and Kwannon as different from each other as possible, and Kwannon is already using these two skills.

The psychic blast, on the other hand, could - and SHOULD - return.

Revanche can have the knife and kicks she stole more important stuff from Betsy.

As Black I can throw kicks and punches. Ninja is a style of waving hands and legs dressed in specific garb. Betsy can throw kicks and punches too without the ninja tag.

Betsy has the butterfly and psycho blast. Just cause Howard anyone forgets and don't use them doesn't mean they don't exist. They messed up the purple hair a Betsy given I'm not counting on them for higher level details.

Betsy and Rachel use their psychic power differently. Betsy makes the psychic rock solid to hurt. Her psycho blasts hurt like Cannonball. Rachel keeps the psychic like water. Before they combined psychic powers to reflect the Shi'ar attack coming from space from space. Nuff said

One way they could use Betsy is by having her controlling both psychic energy (like she already does) and magic (thanks to her current status as Captain Britain and the ties this mantle has to Otherworld's magic). I don't think there has ever been any character at Marvel capable of using both. Then again, this could make her look too overpowered.

But I like your idea of Betsy and Rachel using their powers in different ways and combining these ways like a team!

@Kiki, I really loved the way Bets and Jean collaborated throughout Disassembled. I would love to see something even better with Bets and Ray, but I have yet to see Tini do anything remotely interesting with anyone’s powers save for Sarah in the Secret X-Men one shot and aside from that one thing, Sarah was basically wasted.

You all, I am really hoping we see cool and creative power usages from not only Captain, but also this ensemble cast. Tini has a diverse group of mutants to write and could do some spectacular things with them. One of my disappointments with Excalibur was the fact that its cast never did anything interesting with their powers. She has an even bigger regular cast now, including at least one mutant we haven’t seen in regular action for awhile (Kylun). I am hoping to see some interesting character developments and powers usages across the board. I’m fact, I am praying we do and that this title feels ways different than the growing pains of Excalibur.

Agreed, Bets from what I recall knows various martial arts styles so it kinda boggles me mind that we only see her fighting with the sword and shield versus any combat with her body. She is trained in martial arts from STRIKE, the Hand, plus all the training she did with the X-Men both pre and post Siege Perilous. It’s ridiculous that she only uses that generic sword and generic shield for everything.
