Happy holidays to all Betsy fans and haters too. I'm feeling extra and generous wishing this year.

@Finn Betsy should tell her "right back at ya" lol. And be like "remind me why your awake from your brain dead coma again?"Lol.

I agree, the Excalibur cover is by far the best one. And considering what we saw in this week's issue, it may also lead to more than one interpretation: at first, it looks like a confrontation between Betsy and Kwannon - but maybe this "Betsy" is actually the body Jamie asked Sinister to create...

My favorite is the X-Men cover with the Vault people they will move the Hickman story forward. The worst is X-Men Legends with Adam Laura X. Vulcan is the third Summers brother.

@Simon yes I think it too.

"What's a girl without a body supposed to do?" - um. Okay, yes. Kwannon will probably be triggered by this, especially if Betsy asks to "piggyback" while they find her a new one (which Jamie already has in the works via Sassy-Sinister) but...

If she can't find a new one, and she's body jumping around, this could have some intriguing storytelling! She'd be like the Shadow Queen!!!

I hope that doesn't happen. I wish Kwannon directed her displeasure at Spiral or the people responsible for the swap like her boyfriend (or at least acknowledge that while she isnt at fault for the swap, her revival from being braindead is the sole reason behind it). This subtext of Betsy being at fault is aggravating and basically potential victim blaming by the writers. Hopefully this goes better than expected lol.

Betsy in reality saved her from a life as a vegetable. It was never revealed if Betsy is an omega level telepath like Jean is an omega telekinetic but the mind swap story points at that suggestion because Betsy's mind can heal a damaged brain. In some other reality Betsy lives without a corporeal form as a giant psychic butterfly and her power limits are infinite.

In that cover Betsy looks heroic and grand I like it.

I hoped a new costume for Betsy appeared however it can wait for some magic adventures.

@XMan I find it hilarious that none of the writers or editors have had Kwannon think of Matsuo or mention him etc for all intents and purposes she may think he's alive since she died way before he did and they were still in love were they not?

But there's lies the dilemma with Marvel... if Matsuo is mentioned then all the blame for the body swap would have to begin to shift from Betsy to Matsuo and Marvel cant have that.

They need to blame this racial blunder on a fictional white character as their scape goat to avoid having to publicly admit or apologize for the race swap and the money they made off it for years but yeah let these dumbasses focus on Betsy as opposed to holding Marvel and CEBULSKI accountable (he's the worst, masquerading as a Japanese man for years as a writer for Marvel) but no one is outraged lmao

Cancel culture is very selective.

@Jaime Braz. I think Betsy was an Omega telepath in Remender's X-Force and probably in Astonishing X-Men, but probably not now. I think Jean is supposed to be Omega telepath now not telekinetic as they simplified it.

Jaime Braz said...

@X-Man Betsy had her omega potential unlocked by AoA Jean. Remender always saw her as an omega telepath and began to write her so. Betsy is more accomplished as a telepath than Jean and Jean is better with her telekinesis more powerful than Exodus and Kid Omega. Betsy enrolled at the Xavier Institute to learn the use of her mutant powers and began using the Cerebro as if she knew the drill and cornered Sabretooth whose mind is tough as nails by day one. Betsy entered the mind of Archangel an accomplishment nobody has achieved before and knocked him cold with her psycho blast and noted Warren was powered up big time by the death seed.

Jaime Braz said...

@randybear that really must hurt Cebulski but he has thick skin I think he didn't feel it. Cancel culture is indeed selective and has a deep hatred for White women who don't answer to anyone. They are secretive about it or else Kwanonn wouldn't get away with murders and identity theft for having narrow eyes.

X-Man said...

@Jaime Braz I know, but I think Hickman redid all of that. Betsy isnt on the omega list nor is Xavier (which I find crazy with the latter at least). I definitely think Jean should have gotten omega TK instead of telepathy as well. I agree that Betsy is definitely very skilled in telepathy. She was able to mask Wolverine from both Jean and Xavier's psi powers during a training excercise with only half her telepathic powers (as it turned out Kwannon possessed the other half of Betsy's powers).
