Homo Superior Podcast: We've got a question from Chris_KG on twitter. Any Betsy or Rachel crumbs or nuggets that you know of? And then is there, barring that, is there anything that you think you scripted that was elevated by Jonas?
Foxe: Yeah. So Betsy and Rachel, I can say because Gerry already said it, I am writing both of them in upcoming projects. Not the same project but I'm not splitting them up so no one... sapphics calm down, they're fine. (Laughter) What can I say... cause I know this twitter user has been very eager to find out more about Betsy and Rachel... I can say that, to be honest, Betsy's role in the project that I'm working on has grown because I have seen how many fans are excited about her returning. So I would say that in the first conception she was a supporting character and she has elevated to a larger role because I think the demand is out there. There are a lot of Betsy fans and, you know, she's one of my favorite characters. She's been around for a very long time, she's held a lot of different roles but I'm excited to continue her time as Captain Britain.

So excited for the next installment of Betsy’s Captain Britain. Foxe is such a fan & feels the love for this character. I love his past work & what he’s currently doing with Dark XMen & his Unlimited Otherworld story is such a treat. Exciting times to be a Betsy fan! 💖🦋
I'm over her as Captain Britain. Yes she wanted it in the past because she felt she wasn't enough, but she has been through so much since then.
Her mutant abilities and her combat skills are enough. She doesn't need any extra abilities.
I also think the name is to "super hero ish" if that makes sense. I was glad to hear that Kitty/Kate went back to ShadowKa. I didn't care for her Captain Kate name either lol.
I am glad Betsy's role was elevated and due to her large fan base. I think this might be a good time to write some of us prefer her as Dissasembled Betsy and why.
I definitely believe without being as vocal as we were, that he butterfly would have never returned and we make more of an impact than we think.
In any case, I am glad we will see Betsy soon and written by someone else. I hope he isn't as obsessed with magic and Otherworld as Howard was.
To be fair, the only alternative for Betsy for now would be to become just "Betsy Braddock"; Kwannon's promotion to the Uncanny Avengers roster shows that both Marvel and most readers are enjoying her being "Ninjalocke", so she won't be returning the "Psylocke" codename to Betsy anytime soon.
Anyway, maybe Steve Foxe will be able to give a new direction to Betsy's current time as Captain Britain. And judging from his answer, it seems that she'll be part of an X-team, so maybe (and hopefully) she'll finally be more integrated to the Krakoan community and/or to the things happening in other X-books as well. TH's idea to keep Betsy completely isolated from Krakoa was something that bothered me a lot (especially considering how integrated the other X-teams felt), so maybe this is a start to fix Betsy. His idea of keeping her relationship with Rachel out of focus sounds good as well; none of the X-couples are constantly discussing their romantic affairs during missions and some of them are even part of different X-teams (like when Rogue joined the official X-Men while Gambit remained in Excalibur), so why should it be any different with the two of them?
I hope Betsy gets a new CB uniform. In fact, when Street Fighter 6 was released, I thought Cammy's new outfit (looking like casual clothing with a Union Jack styled jacket) would look quite cool on her.
Love that her role got elevated due to the positive reaction he's been getting about her as CB. Can't wait to see what else he brings to the mythos and hopefully we get some new Otherworld stuff. It's been appearing all over the line so she needs to have some input!
I could be wrong, but I don't get the impression he's saying she got elevated because of positive reaction to her being CB, but moreso Betsy Braddock herself having a sizable fan base overall.
In any case, I am glad her role got elevated and I hope she isn't as isolated from the rest of the X-teams this time around.
@X-Man, do want to write the X-Office again but I feel like Jordan White is being willfully contrary. I actually did submit a question for his last AIPT interview and expressly asking why Besty cannot go back to her Disassembled version and highlighting all the things that don’t make continuity sense between Captain and Disassembled. I also explicitly stated all the reasons why Kwannon is now a carbon copy of who Bets was in her body and asked about their decision to not differentiate her at all. I felt like his answer about people who want Disassembled Bets just really wanting Asian Betsy without realizing that was really asinine and lazy and intellectually dishonest. I think if I write anyone next, it will be Steve Foxe and Tom Brevoort. Hopefully, they won’t be as averse to redirectional feedback.
Disassembled Psylocke Betsy allowed the time she would slay and be worshipped haters and all. That's why Jordie and Cebullshit canned her quick.
I'm with Mixia. Psylocke(the real one)'s time as Captain Britain has been awful. And they're proud of it. Why should we expect it to be any better?
