Hickman... you are becoming my biggest deception in 20 years of reading comics. WTF is this?!?!?! Where is the iconic tournemant you were developing last months?
Well... At least he's feeling something over his TWIN SISTER F-ing SHATTERING IN FRONT OF HIM. That first page alone has more emotion than the reactions in Excalibur... Tini was severely disappointing last issue
Also... Redroot is in the issue and her power is Botomancy, which is the power of divination through the use of plants or plant parts, hope that playsa part
I just dont understand why Jamie couldn't simply revive Betsy. He's done it before and dying in Otherworld only disrupts the krakoan method of ressurection. So either that's a glaring plot hole or thats the direction their headed.
I just dont understand what's the point of killing her and possibly applying a change to her. After she was brought back in MiM in her OG body that was a fresh reboot. Why change her again ugh
Well... I have this theory, Jamie knew Betsy was losing and that's why he bet against her, but it's not unlike him to resurrect her (even though she's not really dead) or mess with her life for his own benefit, it's not beyond him to strike a deal with Saturnyne that benefits them both (Jamie wins riches and keeps his family safe and Saturnyne gets Brian) and also being his way to protect his siblings (specially Betsy, since he seems to have a soft spot for her)
I don't even think she's dead. It's just a dumb red herring like Wolverine stabbing Saturnyne. She will return by the event's end like a wild card against the Arakki or whatever.
Jubilee is another character Marvel can't figure out what to do with. First she was de-powered, joined New Warriors, then became a vampire (still don't understand that choice and why it stuck for years), then she adopts a baby, now her baby is a dragon. None of the things I listed were interesting.
And yeah im hoping that's the plan to just have her earn and choose the title. It didn't sit well with me that it was forced on her in issue #1 like everything else in her history. I just hope she ditches the starlight sword after this event it clashes with the pink shield IMO.
I hope her armor gets a slight redesign too. I just hate the cape so much 😆
...Do you guys think Betsy will have any appearance or be mentioned in this week's issues (other than this scene with Brian and Saturnyne)? Or will she be MIA until next week (or even until after the event is over)?
Oh, and while I'd LOVE Krakoans and Arakki ganging up to beat Saturnyne down, the Arakki seem too determined to conquer Krakoa for that to happen... unfortunately, it'd be easier that they decided to become Saturnyne's allies in exchange for the chance to conquer Krakoa.
Unpopular opinion: I actually liked when Betsy's power signatures was colored yellow during her early days with the X-Men during New Mutants Annual No. 2 and throughout the Mutant Massacre period. Alan Davis did such a great job with details. I thought it popped more with her purple hair. Contrast is always better than everything being matchy-match.
The yellow stood out way more against her hair and clothing choice. The purple/pink power signature just colors in with her whole color scheme and doesn't pop.
You know who appreciated the yellow on pink and purple for contrast? Clay Mann.
Clay Mann redesigned Betsy's Psylocke costume for Age of X event and gave it pink, deep purple to burgundy and gray accents and finished the look with a yellow pashmina shawl that dressed Betsy's shoulders and ended with two butterfly daggers on each end. A thing of beauty I say in which Betsy made necks crack.
The Age of X and the Mahmud Asrar designs for Betsy are the finest and most elegant ever. Pink goes well with black and lavender as well as yellow and gray.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

They really wasted 15 issues on their quests for swords that won't even be used... I--

Is the flower emitting a glow or is that a crystallized flower? Hard to tell with those ass digital colors.
You're probably right which is which is weird as her flowers were always colored blue albeit krakoan flowers all being pink lol

I really feel like once is all said and done Saturnyne is gonna get her keister kicked by Betsy and we're going to have a new Omniversal Majestrix...

Yup, probably
Shogo was interesting, specially in battle of the atom ... But all of the other stuff, literally WTF
Excalibur was dumpster fire. Disrespectful to consumers who pay.
@PsiGirl I'm here for support anytime 🤣

x of swords is definitely imploding. there’s just too much filler.
also I think Saturnyne is the actual villain of this event
Hopefully both sides put aside their differences and team up to take her out.
The solicits towards the end of the event mention "a game abandoned"
Despite the fact the akkaba became as killers, destroyng a kingdom and transform in heroes?
I didnt say they'd become heroes but maybe they would forfeit their attempt to take krakoa.

I loved the Clay Mann look as well. Id definitely be happy if Betsy went back to that or the Asrar look. Im tired of tolerating her superman armor
