Which is stupid because Revanche gave the half of the telepathy back to Betsy after she died. That's why Betsy was training with Jean on the astral plane and was having trouble screening out thoughts when she regained her full telepathy. Still crossing fingers Kwannon isnt on much, and that they actually play with her empathic abilities lol. Love this black and white version, but does anyone know if well get a color version of this? Thanks.
I'd like it if whoever gets the green light for Kwannon to have her as an empath but with the psychic knife since they already showed her with it. I could've sworn from what I've read interviews(don't quote me) that Betsy's powers would remain the same (TP/TK, psychic blades). You've got Betsy, Jean, Rachel, Emma, Stepfords, Monet, X & now 2 Cables running around. Telepathy is kinda stacked.
It would be nice to have an empathic character, & not have her written as "low level" like she was described before the swap. Especially to have her under a good writer, someone who can make empathic abilities standout from TP cause under some writers they seem the same.
I don’t think it makes much sense for Psylocke to build herself a body molecule by molecule with TK and then not have TK at all...but I realize that I could be applying a level of reason the writers are unconcerned with.
I’m okay with Elizabeth having telekinesis if they choose to keep it. If you all recall her psycho-blasts affected physical matter, including knocking all her opponents back when used on them and altering inorganic material , like when she blasted Sabretooth and destroyed tmetal Cerebro’s helmet that she was wearing when he attacked. That shows some psychokinetic potential.
Rahsaan, that would be great and all but the fact that when she gained the TK it was straight up just Jean Grey's given to her. There was no indication it was a secondary mutation, or evolution of Betsy's powers. That woulda made more sense then what we got.. "THEY SWITCHED POWERS"
@CmX, you know writers and editorial post 1990ish basically stopped caring about in canon logic. For instance, what happened in Madripoor Mystery No. 4. As happy as I am that Psylocke looks likes herself again, I still think that was really intellectually lazy scripting that writes like Claremont, Simpson, Davis, Morrison and Remender would have never assaulted us with. I think each of them would have found a far better way to explain her return.
Except building bodies wasn’t a power of Saphire Styx and Psylocke says that she used the “soul power” (Saphire Styx drank souls) that was unleashed when Saphire Styx was already dead.
So yeah, she doesn’t specifically say how she did it other than “instinctively,” but telepathy generally doesn’t affect other energy sources (the soul power) and definitely not the matter it takes to make a body.
But again, this is just me looking for some kind of good line of reasoning and consistency through this which I acknowledge probably was not exactly a priority in this racelifting.
They totally did. My assumption I guess is once Jean got her TK back, somehow her TK awakened some latent potential in Betsy. I kinda used the same reasoning when Betsy regained her telepathy during Sisterhood, it appeared that her going back to her original body jumpstarted her telepathy back up. It started out like psychic suggestion to "Omega" telepath. I know some dont like that term, but you know what I mean lol.
@Some dude... For real! Hell, if they didn’t want to go the Jamie reality warping or Sinister cloning routes, they could have had Roma come and reward Betsy for all heroism by replicating her body and not letting her sould die with Styx. Granted, we haven’t seen Roma in a minute, but at least that would make logical sense based on Roma’s abilities and history with the Braddocks and the X-Men.
And they could have even tied that in with Roma telling Betsy that she learned a valuable lesson about using the Siege Perilous which she gave them unethically when she telepathically persuaded the X-Men to go through and took away their free will. Hence, she was the only one who had to do penance by having been manipulated even further by outside parties when she went through while tge others got their ultimate wishes without any cautionary twist. (Save for Havok who became a magistrate, which never quite made sense... Unless Claremont was positing that to step outside of Cyke’s shadow that he had to basically become the antithesis of an X-Men. Thus another cautionary tale. And now that I think of it Rogues’s was too. She and Carol got split, but only one of them could survive on their shared life energy.)
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Wow stunning. Love the telepaths.
Gotta say that is a very nice piece of art! The new costumes look great here
Great art. I hope they allowed Betsy shines more in the tp aspect, while Jean owns the tk area...
That would work for me. I never really liked Betsy with Tk anyway.
@Tazirai, they seem to be getting my curves for you. 😂
The telepaths are here and daaaaaaaaaaaamn Betsy !!!!
I would love it if Kwannon inherited the TK (since Betsy gained it while she inhabited Kwannon's body anyway) and leave Psylocke a full TP.
That way Kwannon and Psylocke wont both be TP and Psylocke can finally lose the TK.
But watch, Betsy will probably remain a TP/TK and Kwannon will either be the same or a full TP smh

Its gonna happen we already saw Kwannon with a psy knife which she shouldn't be able to manliest as just an empath that I'm aware of anyway

Alex, since Kwannon is essentially a clean slate they can take the character in any direction. I'm curious to see where they take her.

She didn't do it with her TK. I believe she telepathically used the powers of the woman who killed her to rebuild her original body.

@Rahsaan Lol. For real.
I love this cover and I love Betsy being both telepath and telekinetic ;)
