I think it means she is done with killing, the laying down of arms and such http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/lay+down+arms.
Someone pointed out that, In a previous issue, she made angel go back and get her katana like the katana had some special meaning for her, so leaving it behind means that she has changed.
It would have been interesting to see where Remender would have taken it with Psylocke. I just hope she doesn't go back to the pink glowy rainbow bright sword.
I guess that's a symbolic representation of Betsy leaving her killer instinct behind, that she would never use her katana against another person again.
That makes me wonder: will the new Uncanny X-Force NOT be a team of killers? But then, why was "Killers" the word chosen for its teaser??
she also held a katana in the new uncanny x-force cover. So she will kill. I think it somehow means that she is leaving the old katana that she killed so many people with it and that she will use another katana with killing only who is deserved to be killed. Am I making any sense???
I do not think she will keep on killing...she hesitated to kill the Shadow King. Looks like she saw that she cannot make the judgement of who deserves to die and does not want to carry that weight anymore. But, again, it does not match to the "Killers" call of her new team.
she has a few powers in her arsenal that does allow her to stun instead of killing. i think she doesn't want to kill anymore, and she's leaving her killing impulses behind (which she's known for). they're probably gearing her to be more like her future counterpart...more mild. i'm still excited to see what's in store for her in the next issue.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.
