At this point Kwannon has essentially claimed all things PSYLOCKE while Betsy was in that body. Yes I know Kwannon never wore that look but to casuals who only know K from Rivals or Krakoa era they assume it’s not Betsy and that’s Marvels (aka Cebulskis plan)
When peeps on twitter said the Hamd look had to be Betsy I’m rivals as they use a direct quote of Betsy’s for that skin, the casuals clowned the Betsy fans lol
I don’t think Rivals is trying to make this version of Psylocke be Kwannon. At least not explicitly. I feel like they are trying to sidestep the identity issue a bit via multiverse.
From what I read in the in-game files, this version Psylocke is never referred to as Kwannon, she’s referred to as “Sai.” She’s from a universe where she’s like a monster/brood hunter. Other than being from Japan she really doesn’t have anything else in common with Kwannon. Not an assassin, no daughter, no associations or history with the Hand, Nyorin, or Matsuo.

This third costume is clearly Betsy. So, Psylocke in Marvel Rivals actually represents all 3 characters now that includes Sai, Kwannon and Betsy which isn't so bad.
I wouldn’t say Kwannon has been represented…at least not unambiguously. Largely because Kwannon has no real visual identity and historically, the costume in Rivals that was inspired by the classic blue costume has been pre-dominantly used by Betsy, not Kwannon.
@someguy I’m talking about the casuals and the K fans, they all wanna pretend it’s K representation and when we try to point out references to Betsy they act like we are crazy trying to chase K’s coattails
@PsiPsi no one has agreed that Betsy is being represented because at the end of the day Marvel is going to ever promote Betsy in an Asian body at this point. This is all for Kwannon, even if it’s Sai, the amount of people learning of these characters are going to associate her with Kwannon
I have to disgree this third skin is Kwannon despite she is Psylocke in Krakoa. Only Betsy's Psylocke has worn this X-Men Uniform before. Also, her hair and eyes color is purple and has a more doll face and expression. I am quite sure they are intended for this third skin a representation for Betsy while she was in Asian body.
Psi Psi say that directly on twitter and get clowned for it lol the Betsy erasure is real. Here’s another example the artwork of Betsy in MvC2 was used as a variant cover for XMen representing Kwannon and people took notice saying things like “yes Kwannon can claim it all!”
