I crack up at Marvel editors edging trying to make pink haired Betsy happen to open the door to Revanche claim the purple hair. They don't give a flying fudge about Japanese erasure. After all that's why Betsy can't be Psylocke and is thrown the Cap bone for keeping the Asian Psylocke around. Prove it by coloring Kwannon's hair black or else you're hypocrites.

Smoke and mirrors. Marvel greenlight anonymous variants with Kwannon having purple hair and butterflies. Loopholes loopholes. I'd tip my bra to them had they the guts to admit to pretenses. Meanwhile Betsy is pinkabooed

I noticed that too Kiki. It's similar to Betsy in a way the panels show purple covers show pink. For Kwannon they do a great job of giving her black hair but I've noticed covers here and there give her purple hair lol covers can be used as marketing materials but panels almost never are.

Honestly, it's more probable that colorists aren't even aware of who or what a Kwannon is. They're instructed to color "Psylocke," and purple hair is what comes to their mind. The fault lies with the editors who don't even bother to correct them..

Marvel on the down low. Has built a claque circle on socials to hype the Captain Kettle pink floss and defend Marvel when real fans expose the theft of all Betsy things and slapped on Kwannon.

They did it with the butterfly for the Ashes promos and vids pushing it on Kwannon across platforms.

Like hearing them lamexplain

"Erm the purple hair for Kwannon is oh well they're actually black for Japan heh but uhm but the uh psychic knife uhm the katana the you know glow paints the black Japan Asian hair ehm purple."

I think the colorist just do a bad purple or are "lazy" with it.

I'm not sure anyone that does the covers puts that much thought into it, we may be giving them too much credit lol.

That new cover with her and Rachel on it, definitely has it purple and a darker shade of it at that.

They definitely aren't consistent that is for sure lol.

Personally I don't think its that deep of the artist trying to make Betsy hair pink and Marvel conspiring against Betsy.

I honestly think the cover artist/colorist are just lazy & Marvel has bigger things to worry about lol.

However, if he is saying "its the lighting", then that kinda is also him admitting that it does indeed look pink lol.

Otherwise he would just have said it looks purple to him, or he doesn't know what people are talking about (or not even respond lol).

So in a way it kinda is a score all around, cause he's also confirming what others are seeing here as well lol.

I'm not a fan of the pink hair look myself on covers, but as long as the hair is purple on the inside of the issue, I'm good.

Guys, stop. Marvel has recently unveiled covers for both X-Men #1 and Blood Hunt, both featuring Kwannon with purple hair. Is this a mere color oversight? In one cover, she wields the psychic knife—a psionic weapon that was Betsy’s signature for decades. Is it all just coincidence? In the latest issue of FhoX, Kwannon appears with the same purple hair. Not even at the end of the Krakoan era—when Betsy was relegated to a fringe position on an obscure team for most of its tenure—does Betsy’s presence shine. At best, she receives an alternate version of herself from a reality of little significance to the main storyline.
Let’s address this. Randy and Kiki are the sole voices in this blog who have rightly called out the X-office’s attempt to erase Betsy from existence, all while marketing the ‘hot psychic ninja’ as the ‘true Psylocke.’ Instead of giving Kwannon proper characterization, they’ve bestowed upon her Betsy’s personality from the '90s and early 2000s, along with her powers, old costume, and even her codename. Artists and colorists don’t simply make ‘mistakes,’ and if they do, editorial oversight should catch it. Every time we dismiss it as ‘just pink,’ we inadvertently provide editorial excuses to strip Betsy of her defining traits. It’s because of fans like Randy and Kiki that Betsy got her damn butterfly effect back. Sometimes, as fans, we must firmly voice our frustrations instead of just give in to stupid ass changes.

And also, let’s not pretend that the X-office cares about Kwannon as a character. All they want is to retain the ‘sexy psychic Asian ninja’ body because they believe it’s marketable. Need I remind you all about ‘Demon Days’? Kwannon fans were thrilled that she would have a Japanese ninja storyline, until the writer admitted that he only intended to ‘use the body’ for his character Sai. Yet, he continued to refer to her as ‘Psylocke’ and suggested that her hair color would vary based on the lighting—either black or purple

I'm into conspiracies and mental gymnastics for some fake Betsy fans.

They've come at me attacking my heritage for spitting truths a while ago. They wouldn't give a damn a Japanese woman is whitewashed by artists and got dressed in a white woman's mantle and existence.

They like to wrap corporate shots with inclusivity tinsel. Let's face it Betsy will bounce back sometime. Kwannon will be a sexy Psylocke slave forever whatever the hair color and powers Marvel hands out to her.

Eh Kwannon is a different creature altogether. We know what they are trying and have tried with her.

She took Betsy's codename, Betsy's outfit, Betsy's powers and Betsy's signature psychic constructs like the psi blade or even butterfly.

I think we all known they were trying to make her like Betsy for years, a purple cover has probably been the least insulting thing they've done haha.

I also definitely agree fans being vocal were a big cause of Betsy getting her butterfly back amongst other things.

I said that multiple times cause my thoughts were if Jordan and Tini keep mentioning certain things, that could only mean that they are hearing those concerns from fans.

I'm glad that seemed to be the case :)

However I still think the artist are just lazy and inconsistent when it comes to Betsy lol.

They had to have approved the current cover with her and Rachel with the dark purple hair as well as the pinkish covers.

As well as the interiors that keep her hair purple (thankfully).

I'm not worried at the moment (but I'll be very annoyed if im wrong haha).
