Claremont co writes Marauders?! Please let him write a Betsy and Emma catfight.

Randybear Revanche wears purple 🙄 her hair is black for damage control. Shoulda been a blue dress not color borrowed from Betts. Saw it coming.

...Those are some pretty good covers. Not a single bad cover in these X-solicits. That's impressive.

From what I got, this event will begin and end with these twelve issues, right? And since there is no indication of which book tells which part of the event, I assume all these stories will happen simultaneously rather than in a specific order.

Hellfire Gala already seems more promising than X of Swords. And the good thing is, in case this turns out to be a bad event, at least it will be over in a single month.

Also, Kwannon's look is beautiful.

Jean's, on the other hand...

These solicits make it seem like a full month of filler issues. Meh

Kwannons look is so basic its just a purple kimono lol I love how they seem to like putting her in kimonos lmao like of youre a Japanese woman and when you're not being a ninja you always relax in a kimono!! Lol seems so stereotypical and cartoonish

There is some indication. Way of X solicit for example mention the hangover from after the party.

FSaker said...

@Unknown, not really. Some of the solicits do seem to indicate filler stories, like the ones for Wolverine's solo book and for Hellions, but others - like Excalibur, Marauders, X-Men and X-Factor - apparently will have considerable consequences to be dealt with in the following issues. Not to mention, this event is supposedly meant to introduce the first team of Krakoan X-Men (that is, the superhero team). That's a pretty big deal.

Speaking of which, does anyone here want to guess who will be in the Krakoan X-Men team? I know there was a poll where readers would be able to choose one of the members (among Armor, Banshee, Boom-Boom, Cannonball, Forge, Marrow, Polaris, Strong Guy, Sunspot and Tempo), but have no idea of who is more likely to win (definitely not Tempo)...

Jonathan Hickman operates the Okkara nation with politics and the gala is form of politics the X-Men will use for their benefit. The villains use the same island for their politics that creates the fight. The poll results for the X-Men team will change the council and the structure of Okkara.

@FSaker I voted Armor. Hisako can survive in space and operates SWORD. I would vote Polaris but she is in X-Factor. Armor is a breakout new X-Men from the Astonishing X-Men and the X-Men anime.

randybear said...

I voted Polaris. People gripe shes already in XFactor or that Tempo MUST win (even though shes been in limbo for years and not a single soul has asked for her return) but..

1. I dont read XFaxtor nor am I interested in picking it back up after the first three issues I read

2. Lorna has always been B-List at best let's be real. The character can only benefit from more exposure.

3. I love Lorna 😛

FSaker said...

Both are good choices. As for Lorna being in X-Factor, isn't Hisako also in the New Mutants book? Or has she already left it? I've just read issue #6 and she's part of it.

Speaking of issues I only managed to read now, I also read the FF/X-Men crossover. And while I was upset when it was announced because Betsy wouldn't appear on it... well, now I'm glad she didn't. Almost all the X-Men that appeared in the story were very unsympathetic (then again, so were the Fantastic Four, especially Reed and Sue). And when I remember Kwannon appeared for TWO panels - and then she and several other X-Men got blasted away by Sue like if they were nothing -, yeah, our beloved Captain Britain is better off adventuring in the Otherworld.

@randybear Lorna is a founding X-Men with Alex. Lorna and Alex have been written bad for as long as I know. I keep out of X-Factor and Hellions for that reason. I voted Armor because she hops from book to book and the X-Men can be her home. I like Polaris the Marauders fit her better after Storm left.

Tobias Chatti said...

@FSaker Armor was recruited by SWORD she has left New Mutants. Marvel writers have graduated Hisako from the recruits. Like Kitty Pryde that she never was a new mutant and was from the beginning with the adults Hisako made entrance in the Astonishing X-Men.

randybear said...

I'm pretty aware that Lorna has been around since the 60s but Lorna isn't a founding xman her and Alex joined following the O5.

And because Lorna has been around that long and still remains a more obscure character is a crime.

Tobias Chatti said...

In the giant X-Men the founding team was eaten by Krakoa and Polaris with Havok were there. I thought the first X-Men were Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Iceman, Marvel Girl, Polaris and Havok before the international team.

Tobias Chatti said...

Malice did a number on Polaris. Polaris was labeled the crazy X-Man like Havok a bad seed after the Inferno.

randybear said...

Nope. The original founding xmen are the original 5 jean Scott beast iceman and angel. Havok and Lorna appeared soon after but they were not part of the initial debut line up.

CC is credited that issue cause an old back up story is included but I lowkey would love a non- consequential one shot or back up story about Betsy as CB by CC. Id love to know what he thinks of Betsy as CB now and her physical separation from Kwannon
