A rarity to see art done for butterfly Psylocke. I thought the Davis Betsy was forgotten. Glad it changed.

Beautiful art!

But this uniform is still one of my least favorites from Betsy's catalogue. And these ribbons in her sleeve just remind me that it's also not a practical outfit to wear in a battlefield. Fortunately she later got the armor (and, recently, the gorgeous and still practical Disassembled uniform).

I always really loved this outfit. I know it's quite silly but there's really no other costume like it!

Who do you guys think will eventually be cast as Brian and Betsy? I'm betting they will be cast as POC specifcally south Asian or perhaps of middle eastern descent. As theres so much pressure put on the studios to swap race or gender bend nearly every character. Also I cant imagine Marvel having 3 Captains all white/blonde (Cap A, Cap Marvel)

Plus added with the fact that Brexit is viewed as racially charged. I dont mind as long as Betsy still has her purple hair!

Who do you guys think would be great casting for these two?

@randy, with all due respect, I must correct you. You are spreading a false narrative. There is no
pressure to swap races or existing characters. What there is pressure to do is represent people in comics who were previously unrepresented, underrepresented, and misrepresented. The studios themselves rather than creating new characters that are representative instead choose to race swap characters who they realize never had to be white by design but who were historically white and male due to inherent prejudices. I don’t know who they’ll cast or if those characters will even appear. Most non-white people would gladly take newly conceived characters over swapped characters, but since the bulk of Marvel’s established, most recognized characters are white, that is why Marvel chooses to go with them and swap the race. To see there is pressure on the studios negates the problem that existed all
along and which was started by Marvel and other companies when they created all their characters early on.

The original Elizabeth Braddock has to appear in the MCU or nothing at all. Repeating the racist race change undoes the effort Marvel Comics did recently to right her bad situation. Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe created her White and British it is like admitting there is a shameful crime in that. There is none. Let Pocs be Pocs and Whites be themselves. There isn't a handful of British mutants to begin with and Elizabeth, Psylocke was a flagship character and trademark for British X -Men.

I wouldn't mind if that happened, but it's still too early to guess. I doubt Betsy and/or Brian will appear in the MCU in the next years; we know the X-Men debut on the MCU isn't even planned yet, and when it happens I doubt Betsy will be there from the very first film.

But I guess the answer will depend on what identity they'll give to Betsy. If she debuts as Psylocke, I guess it's very likely that she'll be Asian; if she debuts as Captain Britain, then I can see her as caucasian. But the MCU depictions of characters is usually quite accurate to their comics version (except maybe for Nick Fury, but even then, he was based on the Ultimate version and eventually Marvel added a black Nick Fury to the main universe), so I guess we shouldn't worry about that.

And as I said, that will take some time. I fear that by the time she is introduced in the MCU, I'll already be old and will have long lost interest in superhero films. Thankfully Olivia Munn allowed me to see Psylocke on the big screen for once in my lifetime.

Adam Here: I think it's most likely that any TV or movie version of "Psylocke" will be Kwannon. I know a lot of you guys want to see Betsy, but the general public thinks of Psylocke as a Japanese ninja.

As for Captain Britain, there's some unique challenges and possibilities. I've read that Marvel Films is intentionally phasing out concepts like SHIELD and characters like Captain America, because they seem very specifically "American" and don't appeal as much to an international audience. Similarly, a character named "Captain Britain" might be too tied to a specific country to have the right draw.

I think you could do all sorts of exciting stuff with Betsy being a mystical warrior across multiple dimensions. But maybe she should choose a NEW codename instead of sticking with Captain Britain. What do you guys think?

I would rather see new good written representative character s like they did with Morales (ult Spiderman) and he got Soo popular! I don't like race swapping it reminds me of all the "race swapping" people were complaining was made to Betsy for a few decades on the comics. It's the same when they race bend characters in movies.

Fingers crossed the producers cast a Caucasian woman as Betsy. The better if the actress is British and fit or knows martial arts. The yellowfacing of Psylocke will stir more racial controversy to those who are unaware of the race swap in comics. Start MCU fresh without the yellow face drama.

Haha, i just found this. I'm the one who commissioned this piece of art. It's beautiful, and will soon have a place of honor in my home, mounted along with New Mutants Annual #2, Uncanny X-Men Annual #10, Uncanny X-Men 213, and another classic Betsy piece i commissioned this week. Glad to see oldschool Betsy getting some love. ;)
