My head lays heavy in my hands at the sight of Psylocke with a gatling gun. PLEASE give up that gimmick already! She's not a flippin' "Lantern," and that's the only other reason I can think of why Marvel is doing it, because they have no real equivalent when it comes to memory projected weapons. If that is what they want, then do the right thing and just make a new character.
Surrounded like that, it's a damn shame they don't any explosive powers to use. It's not like Psylocke and Rachel are two of the strongest TK users in Marvel. These women are not so weak!
But, I'm jumping to conclusions, too. The next page very well could be of them doing just that.
Mostly, I am just extremely unhappy and disappointed with the continued use of Pslocke's manifested arsenal. I'd have much rather seen her swipe with a sword (real or TK) and have a wave a TK-power flow out from it.
I like Miss Marvel in the cover and Uatu, hopefully they are involved in this too. Sometimes the weapons Betsy uses sound too much, some even can make sense, but others really sound too forced. She has enough habilities to be furtherly explored other ways.
You're not alone. The TK weapons are superfluous. Wouldn't it waste valuable time to concentrate and conjure up a weapon made of energy vs. just thinking and moving matter with thought?? I hate the weapons too. Good analogy on the Lantern!
i think in this case, hand to hand combat for psylocke is a poor choice - so obviously, her tk powers are being explored - one's tk powers is as good as the character's Imagination, and yes, in that sense it is like green lantern - i don't hate the gun idea - but i think betsy is a lot smarter and more imaginative than that - but i also don't want her to use her powers like jean grey did- so…i'm curious where they will take her. marjorie liu didn't really use cecilia reyes a lot - this team could definitely use her - and it is time she gets into the field!
Agreed. The TK katana is enough for Psylocke - although I can see how the writers may think most of the readers would confuse it (which shows Betsy's telekinesis) with the psi-dagger (which is actually a manifestation of Betsy's telepathy).
Cecilia is a welcome addition to this book. As for Jubilee, she shouldn't have her firework powers - but someone pointed out at the CBR forums that in one issue of one of Wolverine's latest books, Beast gave her some gloves with small bombs that kinda work as her former mutant powers, so it may explain how she's doing this. But it's unnecessary, because as a vampire Jubes should have a lot of new powers (superstrength, no need to breathe in outer space, the ability to turn into mist...).
Re: psychic knife. I'd love for that to be her only weapon. No katana (save for a real one). No other weapons. There's so much she can do as pre-cog/telepath/telekinetic that doesn't involve cheesy-looking, conjured weapons.

She used a very similar sounding phrase that didn’t involve the “focus totality” part. Like “the ultimate focus” or something like that.

I have to say…and this is in no way a disrespect to Claremont…but after the first time, that crap became tiresome very quickly. By the second usage I felt as though she was saying it every other sentence…just because she (he) liked the sound of it.
Stepping out of a bath: “The focused totality of my psichic powers was in the scented bath-oil”. Going on a date with warren: “The thigh-high slit in my dress is the focused totality of my psychic powers”. Sitting across from Warren at the dinner table: “Betsy, you look beauty-full”. ” Warren, you look…like the focused totality of my psychic powers.”

I have a suggestion for a crazy pattern. how about all the times Sam Guthrie/Cannonball says “ah’m invulnerable when ah’m blastin’!”

Psychlocke is the focussed totality of why I gave up on the X-Books. I think I’m turning Japanese I think I’m turning Japanese I really think so.

@ TNT That’s usually followed by Sam getting smacked down though. I’d think he’d learn not to say it. (and I’m a Cannonball fan)
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

why is jubilee using her pre-vamp powers? dr. cecilia reyes should be a permanent part of the team!
Interesting, Psylocke is using a machine gun.

I'm sorry. I just hate it. A lot.

Jubes is using fireworks? I might be missing something but vampires do not appreciate light very much, isn't it?
Vigmed,

By the way, I wrote to Mike Marts asking him to keep Cecilia on the roster and to put an end to the psychic weaponry!
