Christopher Yost has shared new details about Maximum X-Men on Bluesky, revealing that the opening story arc is titled “The Avenger Situation.” Spanning five issues, the entire storyline will unfold over approximately 16 hours, keeping the team's first adventure within a remarkably tight window. That compressed timeline suggests a busy day ahead for the X-Men, with little breathing room between the opening chapter and the arc's conclusion.
Yost also clarified Wolverine's role in the series: Logan will come and go from the team, although readers can expect him to appear throughout issues #1–5 because of the short time frame covered by the first arc. His involvement in all five chapters therefore reflects the structure of this particular adventure rather than a promise that he will be present for every mission. Maximum X-Men #1 goes on sale on December 2, 2026, kicking off “The Avenger Situation” and a new chapter for the team, including Betsy Braddock under her new codename, Butterfly.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.

Very exciting! Also a little off topic but what a full circle moment for this blog considering the name and now Betsy going by Butterfly :D awesome stuff
We were so MAD when Jordan D White and Tini Howard tried to take the butterfly away from her lol
They didn't even realize what they were trying to do and we didn't let them! :)
I'm excited.
I definitely was happy she seemed to be getting Psylocke back,
And I'm not convinced that she isn't still getting it tbh lol.
Maybe when she gets an official unique costume she'll take the name back too,
But I don't hate this name.
I think it at least is personal of Betsy & just as representative of who she is as Psylocke.
I never got that with the name CB or that mantle. It never fit her or represented her imo.
And ita @Randybear it definitely is a full circle moment.
As much as we had to write & fight for Betsy,
Love the name or not, the fact they gave her this name of all names, haa showed that our efforts were heard & mattered.
I'm definitely excited for this book :)
I also loved Yost's work on the mini series he wrote for Betsy & her characterization so that helps with my excitement lol.
