Spoilers: Excalibur
finds itself under air strike in London. Britain has declared war on Krakoa
after being hit seemingly by Krakoan missiles. The British military opens fire
against Excalibur with no hesitation. Rictor saves the team, who then finds out
the Krakoan gates have been burned down. London has been warded against mutant
powers which prevents Excalibur from using their powers. Betsy can’t teleport
the team back to Otherworld either. Suddenly, Kitty Pryde appears at the helm
of a flying ship to rescue Excalibur. Kitty explains that the missiles hitting
Britain are Krakoan, but the Council has nothing to do with it. All mutants
have been called back to the island, and Kitty has been picking up stragglers
and strandeds on her flying ship with Rachel’s help. Kitty tells Betsy that Pete
Wisdom was shot to death at the Lighthouse and is taking his body back to Krakoa
for resurrection. Betsy insists Kitty drops her by the Lighthouse as she wants
to see Jamie.
Meanwhile,
at Apocalypse’s laboratory in Otherworld, Jamie Braddock taunts Morgan Le Fay,
who’s being held captive against her will. Jamie reveals that everything that
has been happened so far is his doing as he has created a pocket reality to
meddle with Excalibur. Jamie plans to create another Captain Britain Corps for
his own amusement.
At the
Lighthouse, Excalibur finds itself against air strike again. Gambit protects
the team from an incoming missile. Jamie appears riding a unicorn, which hits
Jubilee heads on. Betsy demands to know why would Jamie attack Britain and
implicate Krakoa. Jamie explains that he broke reality and that the actual 616-Betsy
and Excalibur are still in Otherworld behind enemy lines and have no idea he’s doing
this. As it turns out, Jamie has created an entire pocket dimension for this alternate
Betsy. She angrily overwhelms him with a psychic attack. Jamie responds with
force and seemingly kills this alternate Betsy. Rogue, Gambit, Rictor and Jubilee
take her Amulet of Right and all four of them become Captains Britain. Back in
Otherworld, the Omniversal Majestrix Opal Luna Saturnyne claims these new
Captains Britain are pretenders and must die.

Wait, so this entire story is taking place in an alternate reality, with alternate versions of the characters? Does that mean that Betsy and Pete Wisdom are still alive? I hope so. And I guess that explains Kitty rescuing them (she is still dead in the main reality, isn't she?).
As for Jamie messing with the reality... well, that was to be expected.
Anyway, judging from this description, this issue seems to be quite confusing. But randybear said he enjoyed it, so maybe the story is easier to understand with the images. And I'm glad that he liked it, and hope this is a sign this book can still be as great as the characters used in it.
This was a really good issue. This book works best when Braddock focused.
So when this is all said & done, do they put Jamie in the holding stasis pen under Krakoa like certain other villains that are considered too dangerous or do they kill him again?
Also makes me wonder how should the Council handle reality warpers like him?
Alex I was thinking the same thing. Jamie is doing some irredeemable things here but also we cant forget Apocalypse put Jamie in this seat of power and Apocalupse is no idiot, he wouldnt allow Jamie to be up to all this if it didnt serve his own goals in some way.
It’s also Tini writing Apocalypse (I don’t wanna give her too much hate because I haven’t really read much from her and she seems nice) so far it seems like she doesn’t have any grand plans and is making things up as she goes along. For all we know Brian might be the big bad of this series
@Randybear,
I forgot A vouched for Jamie. You're right, if Tini is writing Apocalypse in character (even with him supposedly being more altruistic now) he's only vouched for him to benefit himself.
I know a lot of us have felt Excalibur has been too slow & would prefer the plot be more connected to the main X-books, but I feel we might finally be getting somewhere.
@Alex I think the problem is it's a very slow burn, and Howard has a problem with connecting scenes more organically, she's not very creative with anyone's powers, and while I adore and cherish To's work, he has problems conveying certain actions, especially in the more crucial climactic scenes
And Betsy still useless as captain britain...
My main problem is their treatment of Gambit. That dude is constantly getting beat up or falling down or needing rescuing in this book all while constantly complaining. It's just so far out of character. Also, what the heck did he do with a the missile? I know that with his powers expanded he can do a lot with energy, but did he just absorb a solid object?
