So it looks like she's actually born as Asian in this. Less complicated I think. Kinda Mulan-ish. Sometimes you wonder if they should of just started her out like this.
If the old guy in the kimono and the monocle is supposed to be her father he looks more caucasian (blue eyes). Maybe she's supposed to be eurasian in this to satisfy both parties.
@treysome - The thing is, when Psylocke was created the writers had no idea that she would be turned into an Asian-looking woman and that the readers would enjoy the change, making it permanent. Betsy spent a lot of years as a Caucasian woman, in both the Captain Britain series and in Uncanny X-Men. Her body swap (which wasn't originally a body swap) was even supposed to be temporary, and only remained permanent because readers enjoyed her new look so much.
She could have started out like this in the Ultimate series, though. But her body-swap was much less convoluted there.
“For so long, my life has been out of control. Chaos and serendipity, wrapped in insanity. I have suffered, I have lost. Not just my life, but my very soul, my self. But no more. Now I know who I am.” – Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Braddock, daughter of Otherworld, mutant, telepath, telekinetic, defender of the realm and, above all, X-Man.
