There´s bears in japan? But i don´t know. It´s seems some retcon to a twisted story. And what i tought when they put elektra in that story. First Spiral is gone. Betsy was supposed to be found in southern china. Actually the original plan from claremont is that she supposed to be chinese. I always say that if the gangs of mandarim wouldn´t obey a caucasian much less a japanise. But blame Nicieza, 🙂 Also Nyorin kept revanche because he thought that she was betsy despite she was indeed kwannon. During acts of vengeance Matsuo never called her Psylocke... And the time doesn´t match. Wolverine goes from australia to madripoor in what? weeks saying optmistc. No months to justify a special training in Japan... I found it a bitsy confusing. And Elektra came out from no where

Bears is definitely a problem in Japan at the moment. https://www.nbcnews.com/world/asia/japan-bear-attacks-fight-back-rcna246727

I'm afraid the story could be even messier after this series. Bringing in new characters and cutting out other (crucial) characters is not a good idea in my opinion. Are we going to see more of the body swap and Ninja training, or are we just skipping this? I thought this story would explore how Psylocke was turned into a Ninja. A few pages in, and she's already finished the process.

@Unknown… One correction… Matsu’o absolutely did call her Psylocke in the Claremont story:

What new characters did they bring in?? He said Mojo and Spiral were still involved but they did their piece of the transformation already so didnt have to be in the mini series and the other Jonin (which is just another name for an elite ninja) had nothing to do with it they just had a conversation about what was already going to take place. Its like some of you just bitch to bitch. Jeezus.

The writer said in interview his mini series is pulling from Elektra Assasin, Daredevil Fall from Grace, Night Thrasher and Uncanny X-Men. So Elektra showing up makes sense since its literally on the covers and shes a big part of the Hand.

As I pointed out, I would have loved to read a story that gives me the answer to what exactly happened to Psylocke. Details about the transformation. We've been stuck with "a mix of science and magic" + "body swap" for decades.

Word. I want to know the actual procedure. I wanted to know it when there was only a single body and when there was two bodies.

Honestly, I don’t need to see more about the body swap. Leaving Spiral off panel is 100% fine imo. I’m looking forward to seeing more new adventures (like fighting the Chaste and Elektra) not rehashing.

The Hand is know for resurrecting their fallen. This is exactly what they do to Elektra and others… what they do to Betsy is far beyond zombie ninja and Spiral is still very much still a part of that process. Read it again.

this, the issue retconned nothing tbh

I haven’t read it, but from the scans, the author is saying that amnesiac, brainwashed Psylocke had memories of both Elizabeth’s and Kwannon’s that she didn’t understand?

If so, then that tracks with Lobdell’s retcon and Nicieza’s correction retcon from the 90s, right? That Betsy and Kwannon had bits of one another’s minds in both bodies (with the new Hand assassin being mostly Betsy and the comatose one with Nyorin being mostly Kwannon). So now new retcons.

This book looks decent. One of these days, I hope someone tackles what happened to Kwannon’s soul after she died on the Mountain. When Matsu’o seemingly gave Betsy all of her missing parts and took all of Kwannon’s… could that have been when Kwannon’s soul was also put back in her original body’s brain but forced to be trapped as a dormant observer? Like an unintended result that she nor Matsu’o knew would happen? And was it Betsy’s extremely powerful telepathy that unconsciously enabled her mind to supersede Kwannon’s as the host persona without Kwannon ever being able to take control like the Carol persona could from Anna Marie?

And then who was the “demon” Psylocke persona that Betsy had to fight to reclaim Kwannon’s body after killing her original body which Allison being completely extra mutilated unnecessarily during the sisterhood battle?

Maybe I need to just write a fanfic answering all these questions that Office X never will and then let that be my head canon from now on. 😆

I read on some site (Wikipedia??) years ago under their Psylocke entry that the evil spirit that Betsy had to defeat to regain control of the body was Kwannon. I doubt that as I don’t believe for a second that anyone at Marvel at that time was playing the long game of having Kwannon be a silent passenger lest they would have written her to be in control of her body versus it being an unconscious husk strapped to that imprisonment device which the sisterhood had it strapped to. Speaking of… I could also use my prospective fanfic to explain how exactly Spiral captured Betsy to bring her to the Red Queen or Madelyn or whoever that hell that wa which also should be clarified in the fanfic. 😆

@Rahasaan but even with that.

Betsy lost all her telepathy when she and Jean swapped powers.

Jean got the strength of Betsy's telepathy added to hers and Betsy got Jean's to and was solely a telekinetic.

So no telepathy to supress anything.

And then Betsy was dead for years and only returned when Jamie built her a completely brand new body.

So 2 instances that even if that happened, Kwannon should have been freed.

But honestly I don't think Betsy ever said that happened between them and Kwannon only was vague at best.

I was glad that was kinda dropped tbh.
