  1. A change of who has the throne? Excalibur's solicits look promising! Though, to be fair, I don't really mind if Betsy joins the Council or not; she's never been the kind of person who enjoys power and taking decisions.

As for the main X-Men book (where I still hope Betsy will occasionally appear, BTW), I wonder who's the nemesis they'll have to deal with... especially considering pretty much all of their nemeses (Magneto, Apocalypse, Shaw, Sinister, Mystique...) are living with them in Krakoa.

And as much as I loathe Kwannon, I gotta admit she's looking pretty cool as the new Psylocke. And it seems she didn't dye her hair purple (which helps setting her apart from Betsy), which is a bonus.

  2. Happy that Husk and Bling are joking the team and Kwannon looks fabulous. Def prefer her having black hair to Betsy’s Purple.

  3. Omg Adi Granov is doing an Excalibur variant 🥰

  4. I wonder if Kwannon now recalls how to speak English. When we last saw her, she seemed to only recall Japanese.

I hope they stick with her natural black hair. Everyone keeps saying that she has the butterfly power signature, but I do not recall seeing her use that any Rosenberg's run or in any of the solicits for Dawn of X. Do we know what her powerset actually is? Has she been confirmed as both telepathic and telekinetic?

Bling... Another problematic character. I hope she is written well annd not as a stereotype.

I look forward to Laura and Paige.

And I way prefer Teen/Early Adult Nathan over Old Nathan. I look forward to seeing how his relationship unfolds with the Summers clan.

I would like to see Kwannon beat the crap out of Spiral. And then move on from all things realted to her body swap.

    1. In one of the covers she was levitating with butterflies. I dont know if that was confirmation of tk, but I took it as so. I guess we will see lol.

  5. I'm guessing the guy on the marauders with the CF on his robe is Christian Frost. I wonder if Marvel is setting he and Bobby up to be a couple

  6. I didn't notice that before (possibly because Bobby bores me so I didn't even bother looking at the Marauders cover), but yeah, that could be Christian! I loved his sarcasm in Emma's solo miniseries (he definitely influenced his little sister), and possibly Emma's only nice sibling (not that hard when the other ones are Adrienne and Cordelia).

But it would be hard to turn them into a couple. First, isn't Christian the only Frost sibling who is NOT a mutant? That means he wouldn't be allowed in Krakoa... and the last time I remember seeing him in a story, he was barely sane and completely dependent on drugs.

That said, I'd love to see Christian back to comics, and if there's any man who could make Bobby become more interesting, he's the one.

  7. Really cute seeing Maggie and Betsy interact. The art looks great wish the colors were a little more vibrant but still a great preview.

  8. @FSaker Christian Frost is a mutant with astral energy manipulation which he can shape at will. He projected his deceased father in front of Emma and Bobby after he murdered him or something for abusing him and locking him in an asylum for being gay. Bobby and Christian could be a match and work together as a couple. I wasn't thrilled that Marvel decided to change Iceman's orientation and in that lame process of psychic outing.

I'm worried about Anna Marie and her health. Her condition is stable but she looks extremely vulnerable on the cover like a Sleeping Beauty. I never thought Rogue could be feminine and calm because I'm used to her anarchist attitude.

  9. A very good omen is the presence of X-Men like Cannonball, Boomer, Forge, Glob and Armor.

  10. @Jaime Braz, oh, I didn't know that. So Christian IS a mutant... that means he's allowed at Krakoa. I guess Iceman would be more tolerable with him by his side.

As for Rogue, the cover with Betsy kneeling in front of Apocalypse makes me wonder: he repeatedly surrounded himself with his Four Horsemen, and he has exactly four mutants next to him on that cover (Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee and Rictor)... could this indicate he'll try to turn them into his next Horsemen?

I hope not; he changes his Horsemen so often that this concept stopped being interesting long ago...

  11. So...Storm is still a sidekick?

It's nice that they are expanding the Fallen Angels team, but Husk and Blink don't seem like worthwhile additions. Why not add Monet?
It seems that Monet and Rogue are never around at the same time in the X-Men comics. Anybody agree or disagree?

  12. The solicitations make Excalibur very interesting. I noticed Trinary is in the Excalibur book. Her role unknown. Many lesser known X-Men appear on the new line. New Mutants has Chamber and Mondo. Mondo was helping Black Tom in Generation X and then disappeared he may have become good.

Marauders was so and so. Kitty Pryde is a weak X-Man to lead a team. I hate writers who continue to present Iceman like a manbaby. He wore a diaper in the first issue c'mon! I don't know Christian Frost but as a Frost he isn't good news for the X-Men. Emma Frost is doing nefarious stuff with Sebastian Shaw. Marauders were the worst X-Men villains and killed the Morlocks and many surface mutants. Why does Kitty choose their name? Marauders left her intangible and almost killed Colossus and Nightcrawler. Is Mister Sinister funding Emma and Shaw?

  13. Update on the famous butterfly effect. An alternate cover for Fallen Angels #1 clearly shows Kwannon / Psylocke using it: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/3413860/fallen-angels-1?variant=7563075

  14. To be fair, Kwannon inheriting the butterfly effect doesn't bother me so much. I mean, after she pretty much shared her body with Betsy's mind for so long, it's not surprising that some aspects of Betsy got imprinted into her. She also has Psylocke's iconic psi-knife, after all.

However, Kwannon having the effect shouldn't mean that Betsy lost it. She should have kept it as well. Unless becoming Captain Britain somehow messed up her standard powers (which I hope isn't the case).

But as long as she keeps her telepathy, I'm fine.

    1. FSaker you need to keep up. Marcus To confirmed on Twitter months ago "we are moving away from that visual" when asked about the butterfly signature.

  15. Kwannon was shown using telepathy and the butterfly effect in Uncanny X-Men.

  16. @Benjamin, which issue? That Rosenberg run was so hideous, I ended up skimming over most of it and then literally throwing the books in the trash. I held onto them for a while, but every time I tried to read, I couldn't get through a single issue. Thus, I missed Kwannon's use of the butterfly effect while using here telepathy. Every time I saw her use telepathy there was no butterfly power signature. If you recall which issue number and tell me, I can google it to see if I find an image. I most definitely recall her displaying the psychic knife though.

Everyone, who would you feel if Kwannon started saying that the psychic knife was the focused totality of her telepathic abilities? LMFAO. If Bets never utters those words again, I will be good.
