OK, those 6 pages are a good sign, the internal monologue is not the "victim" Betsy TH gave us, and it seems they're not rebooting any main plot points
ReplyDeleteRight! And shout-out to author for remembering that Betsy is a precog… Even if she has no conscious control of that ability (the first of her psychic powers to manifest, followed later by telepathy, and finally telekinesis).
DeleteI’m still miffed that they completely disregarded this during the “no precogs on Krakoa” mandate by Moira X. I kept hoping that someone have Bets having a flash of all that Moira would be up to in the future.
Maybe if she ever gets cast in a title again, future writers will bring back her random precognitive flashes. She has not had one since the very beginning of the Blue & Gold era.
TH gave us 'criminal' or 'body stealer' Betsy.
Deletethe worst part, Psi-Psi, is that I'm not even sure she knew how she felt about that, I was recently re reading excalibur, and around #19, the relationship between Bets and Kwannon was at a decent place
Deletethere’s more real emotion in this 6- page retelling than anything we’ve gotten since the disastrous re-swap.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest is as good.
I was shocked at them talking about her being a precog.
ReplyDeleteThe dialog & Betsy's characterization seems good.
The art is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm so happy that they remembered Betsy's pregog abilities
ReplyDeleteI first read this comic when I was about ten (many, many moons ago 😅); this was the moment that made me fall in love with Psylocke. What a hard decision she had to make, but she did it because she’s a hero, and she did it to save her friends. How fucking cool to see it retold after all these years. 💖
ReplyDeleteI still couldn't imagine having Psylocke in the movie or series who doesn't have an English/British accent (except for Sai).
