  1. Glad people haven't forgotten that Betsy is beautiful outside of Kwannons body as well.

    1. Leah's weak spot was to give Betsy figure issues. Should she touched model eating disorders and calories angst I'd be fine.

  2. There is way more chemistry between Elizabeth and Frederick from Age of X-Man. I would love to see that explored versus her and dull-as-dish water Rachel. Also, I have the feeling that we'll see Rachel as more of a powerhouse psi and Betsy as barely a psi in the new book. At this point, I may even take a rehash of her and Cluster.

Also, have we seen Neal in this Krakoan Age?

    1. Gotta give amens to that. Body positivity was ruined with Kitty's Rachel. I prefer Blobsy to the incest scissors we got by Tini.

Neal was also soiled by Tini in the craptastic X-Corp Tumblrdream fan service comic.

    2. I didn't know Neal showed up in XCorp what did TH do with him? Lol

    3. So did Neal. Tini used him in a two lines panel be interviewed by Warren all friendly as if they never had to fight over Betsy. Next one he was battery stock for a machine. The thrills yawn 🥱

    4. I shouldn't have asked 😆

  3. Ahahaha revanche is a cold dish baby. They got the memo Betsy is kickass outside the kettle suit. Age of X-Man suit runs catwalks around the CapB garbage.

  4. I prefer Betsy and Warren, but definitely wouldn't say no to her and Blob if they were an alternative to Betsy/Rachel (who seem boring to me).

I also think that outfit is better than the Captain Britain gear (I liked the hoodie callback), but still prefer Dissasembled.

  5. "Tini used him in a two lines panel be interviewed by Warren all friendly as if they never had to fight over Betsy"

To be fair, they really never fought over Betsy: Warren saw Betsy and Neal flirting with each other, then broke up with her (Betsy actually tried to convince him to stay with her, but wasn't really upset when he refused).

Looking back, the whole scene was surprisingly mature: there was no whining, no drama, and Warren didn't even blame Neal or Betsy; he just realized that the two of them were getting along better than he was getting along with her, and took a step aside.

  6. @FSaker Actually, they did have a pretty wild physical confrontation in the Black Sun mini.

The break-up may have been angst-free, but it was obvious that the reasoning behind it was because Claremont would never let one of his pet characters end up with a character whom he perceived as whiny and more invested in his own fortune and companies than the X-Men. All rubbish of course; just because Warren didn't react to the loss of his wings the same way Betsy did when she lost her eyes or her original body, that doesn't indicate self-pity or a weak character.

    1. Also I loved the idea of Angel evolving past social statuses and the importance of friendship/love between himself and Betsy. While CD plot sucked it was beautiful when Angel gave up a part of his "soul" to save Betsy.

Now she's just making out with Rachel because... Twitter pressured it lol

    2. Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Warren brushed it off first being proud on second thought Warren lashin out for Betsy was in character. He lost a super model killer of royalty. Playboys react that way. Warren Betsy Neal one of the best drama triangles Chris jumped at the chance to a golden hair pulling.

  7. I totally forgot that Neal showed up in X-Corp for a hot sec as background fodder. I do recall that.

I always wonder why none of these writers seem to value long-standing friendships, etc. Like why have Betsy and Doug to this day still not had a single conversation on-panel? Was their last on-panel conversation really Uncanny Annual No. 10 back in the late 80s? Have we seen Rahne react to the fact that Moira is evil?

  8. @Rahsaan most of the characters with Howard are background fodder for the writer to communicate her messages. Barely anything feels organic from the interactions of long running mutant stars to new ones.

Doug was relegated to Bei's plushie husband and a tree translator and Rahne to a New Mutants pet. Karma saw little progress but not anything groundbreaking.

As for Moira the character destruction her character is facing is irreversible. Betsy and Rachel face the same fate.

Neal Shaara the first vegan Indian mutant should have gotten the Synch upgrade and appreciation close to Betsy or by his own. Better yet a code name of his own honoring his heritage the way Indra has. Agni which Claremont thought good initially is better than the Thunderbird relay identity.
