So from the looks of this I'm guessing the last issue of Tini's run ends in a defeat for Excalibur & this series will be about them trying to reclaim Otherworld.
I spy with my little peepers Prestige Rachel. I feel it coming Betsy and Rachel sisterhood rrrrruined Tini's gonna turn it filthy twisted lezzmance. WTF!
And Jubilee went poof! Karma slacking. Real Asian heroes have it tough in comics watch Sunfire stand stupid chasing tail in X-Men. Only brazilian buttlift Revanche thrives at the cost of Betsy.
So... it's basically Excalibur, only replacing Jubilee with Rachel?
I guess it's nice that Bei will join them for real. On the other hand, that dragon... is that Shogo? If so, it's shocking that Howard treated Betsy's body swap as way more problematic than it actually was, yet she seems totally fine with a human baby being repeatedly transformed into a dragon (to the point where poor Shogo probably doesn't even know anymore whether he's a human or a dragon) and put into dangerous situations. Really, THAT is a true problematic plot.
And Kiki, I agree; Gorgon should have been back by now (so does Rockslide, by the way).
Thank you and amen! Gorgon is fresh like mint. Marvel is cray cray to off a unique samurai like him. I mean his chemistry with Cyclops at the G20 meeting was lit. Ditto for poor Rockslide he was done Pebbledrop.
Shatty is boring he's a Longshot-Gambit mashup hash browns. Round of applause to Leah Williams for making him a heel lotta good with him like that but nope back to his blah Liefeld bathrobes.
With Doug's wife in the same book as his old friend, maybe we'll finally see a real interaction/conversation between him and Betsy after all these years! I hoped we'd get on in X of swords but it never happened.
@randy, how can you tell that Ric and Star are more boring than the rest? So far, everyone in Excalibur has been made boring. LOL.
Also, the theme of X = 10 continues, and I hope this Knights book really well tie in more deeply with Krakoa/Moira X:
@Kiki, has it ever been confirmed that dysmorphia and eating disorders were nothing more than the false memories implanted by Nate Grey for his pretend world where everyone had contrived backstories to cloud their memories?
As for Leah, I enjoyed and loved X-Factor and was sad that she had to abruptly end it despite her plans for the cast, but am shaking my head at the mess that is The Trial of Magneto!
We make ourselves believe so. I did cause Betsy ain't moaning about her looks she thrived in them till Siege Perilous came knocking. Nate it was.
Leah was doing fantastic in X-Factor and she found out she's cancelled for a trial book that could be part of the investigation. Messy X office halting the work of writers. No surprise the trial ended bad Leah wasn't given warning and a chance.
If we must have Otherworld stuff, I'd rather the team just come back to Earth with the Furies in pursuit and then the Furies team up with Nimrod, Karima, and the Phalanx since all are either fully or partially machine-based.
I do know that Furies have living minds that are not cybernetic and which Emma has manipulated previously, so maybe Tini will finally start showcasing Betsy's telepathy more often. Betsy and Rachel's. One of my main gripes with Excalibur is that Tini was very lackluster in how she wrote mutations into her stories. The characters barely did anything interesting with their power sets despite having an artist like Marcus, who could clearly showcase really powerful power signature.

DeleteI may be mad as hell with Leah and Tini slapping body dysmorphia on Betsy out of the blue but props to where props due.
DeleteLeah making Shatty Hulk Hogan was brill same Tini making Jamie Braddock the Caligula of X.

Because I personally find them boring and the others not so much?
DeleteIs Tini gonna be the writer on this?
ReplyDeleteFsaker your point about Shogo is so true haha

That's hella good twist makes all involved. Betsy is written out of Krakoa and the X family thrown to the wolves.
