ReplyDeleteFor me the rules of this universe don't hang together.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't see how any of these stories are compelling or enjoyable. Or saying anything about these characters.
Age of X-Man desperately wants to be Age of Apocalypse, but the writing isn't there to back it up - indeed the writing and editorial necessary hasn't been there for years.
Hard pass.
@Benjamin, I agree. I'm really hoping that Hickman is the second coming 80s style X-stories (but relevant to this millennium).
ReplyDeleteThat being said, does anyone here regularly read any Marvel titles outside of the X-titles? Is their writing as lackluster, event-driven, and disjointed? Or is that a problem specific to the mutants since Marvel previously thought their licensing rights were lost forevermore?
It's more trying to be an inverted version of AoA and not exactly like it. Only similarities are they are alternate realities and even then AoA were their own characters not psychic induced into believing they are different.
ReplyDeleteAoX isnt terrible but its definitely slow and uneventful and reeks of filler before Hickman showed up.
I can't wait till the AoX is over....I haven't liked any of them.
ReplyDeleteWhy you haven't liked any?
