I was going to question most of their wardrobe choices (Domino and Storm look great, Kitty looks okay aside from the tacky pants, the others are just a mess)... then I remembered they're in Madripoor. So yeah, these end up being great choices to let them blend in.
The art is very unconventional, but I like how it looks in these pages and in the ones shown as a preview. I still need to read the full issue to see if I'll like the other pages as well.
Betsy would explain again the "the totality focused of her psychic powers" again... thank God, Styx appear and saved us... The writers are pretty boring nowdays... Miss classic Claremont.
Jeferson, amen. Although Sapphire Styx... Is she named after the river in the mythological underworld?
Also, while the 80s was the best X era to date, Claremont would have probably had Styx say something like, “Now, Psylocke, you are mine... BODY AND SOUL!” Also, let’s not forget that Claremont came up with “the focused totality” to begin with.
This story looks really crappy. Every time I consider buying X-Men books again, I come here and read what is going on and decide on a hard pass. SMDH! I’m sad that my loved books have gone to pits.
The pencils aren't the greatest, sure, but the colorist flat out doesn't even try and is the greater offender to these pages. Two tone skin coloring is lazy as fuck. The writing is equally bad. Just looking at the pages here shows little effort and gives showcase to people putting together an easy paycheck.
Tazirai and Vigmend you guys are so right. Look at the Wolvie Psylocke panel with their faces together. They look like the same person, just one got a beard and one don’t. I don’t know what that girl CmX is talking about. Bad pencils. She cray if she think they good.

FSaker, I wasn't looking forward to Silas drawing this but I was pleasantly surprised.. it's not perfect but his style has improved a lot IMO.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple pages I didn't care for. For example I didn't like how he drew Magneto but his Psylocke looked great!
You guys really think that page with Styx sucking Psylocke of all her lifeforce looks good? It is terrible pencils.

Anoymous, I didn't say it was perfect but it was better than I expected to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, try a log-in otherwise your opinion is irrelevant.
Cmx, aren’t we a pert, little sassette? If my question was irrelevant, you would not have answered. Don’t get fresh, chickadee.
DeleteThe art wasn't great, and everyone looked the same. Story all over, and the X-ladies Jobbed Jobberifically.
