I wish writers would be consistent with Betsy's regional slang instead of making her sound stupid. Boyo? When does she ever say this? This is an Irish/Banshee/Black Tom Cassidy word. She's British... she says things like "bloody hell" and "bugger". How did these writers get jobs at Marvel? It's like reading bad fan-fiction dialogue.
I agree, and it's surprising that this slang appeared in a Claremont story... he usually gets Betsy's voice right.
But it's great to see her chatting with Kurt and Rachel. Claremont established the three of them in the Reload era (both before and shortly after House of M), and I like to see them reunited again.
But really, Kurt and Bloody Bess? I know Claremont likes to establish unusual couples, but damn, no one cares about Bloody Bess...

Re: Claremont... I am absolutely convinced that senility has set in.
ReplyDeleteI actually did not know that Claremont wrote this. Wow. He needs to retire.
