Recap 2009 — Homecoming
2009 brought Betsy Braddock’s time with the Exiles to a close after her final confrontation with Slaymaster. Madelyne Pryor’s Sisterhood then returned Psylocke to Earth-616, where she rejoined the X-Men. Her new life in San Francisco was brief: the conflict with Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers drove mutantkind offshore and led to the founding of the island nation of Utopia.
Betsy also worked with Beast’s scientific X-Club and defended Utopia during Necrosha, when Selene’s forces brought back fallen mutants. The year ended with Matsuo Tsurayaba destroying Betsy’s original body as part of a cruel plan designed to force one final reckoning between them—leaving a deeply personal conflict unresolved for 2010.

Absolutely wonderful, it's great to see how far our Betsy has come. From somewhere off in Claremont's corner in the universe, to coming back to be a B-List superstar (B-List meaning she's not used and abused like Cyclops, Wolverine, Emma, and Namor).
ReplyDeletewow congrats Betsy, she's almost one of the front runners. finally 2009 she achieved what she never could- A list status. before she was always in Jean's shadow and now she's her own entity. i hope she keeps both tk and tp from now on so she stands out from the other women with mental powers. the year started out amazing since i am a fan of her british body and costumes and had such hope, but i guess ninja is better than no psylocke at all and it sets her apart from the rest. hope next year just gets better with a new writer and artists!
ReplyDeleteAll this greatness was mostly achieved within six months! (around last June, when she officially rejoined the X-Men) it's fun to see what happens in just a few months!
ReplyDeleteWait until we see in the whole year of 2010! With the conclusion of her mini, Second Coming and whatever sort of relaunch approaches shortly after!
Happy new years Psylocke fans!
Does anyone have some great Psylocke pictures/fan art/official art link archives?? I can't find very many good sources of her greatness.. =/
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I think it was a good year for Psylocke
ReplyDeleteThanks Luckystar and Cmx for this wonderfull place where we can all discuss and see what its happening in our dear elizabeth life
Keep the good work, im sure its not easy
good holidays for everyone
Happy new year
"see" you all in 2010 with more adventures from Psylocke, much more i hope
:)

This is a fantastic recap of Betsy's best moments of 2009. It was a strong year for her revival and return to the A-List of X-Men characters. I can only see greater things coming in Psylocke's future in the upcoming new year. I would love to see another mini and a greater role across all X-related books. 2009 proved that Betsy is at her best when she is among the 616 X-Men, not in another obscure dimension.
ReplyDeleteyeah u did good with the recap, definitely a great year for Betsy hoping she pops out more next year.
ReplyDeleteAlso hoping she doesn't wear that god awful costume during her Exiles stint
Wow, that's an amazing recap! I hope it was fun to make it, because that definitely must have demanded some hard work!
ReplyDelete2009 is probably Psylocke's greatest year since the time she left the X-Men to live with Warren. She did so much this year, she appeared in so many huge titles this year, it's wonderful! As Mr. Hellfire said, I don't think she's already back to the A-List, but her B-List status is great when we remember that last year she was stuck with the New Exiles.
Merry Christmas (I should have written this a couple of days earlier, I know...), Happy New Year, and let's hope that 2010 is a year full of Psylocke appearances in our favorite comic books!
@FSaker - Merry Christmas (belated) to you as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy New Year 2010 everyone!! and thanks for this blog luckystar & CmX !!

and i cant believe i said "are" instead of "Our" lol
ReplyDeleteHey guys, been following this site for a while but this is my first post! Might as well start at the end of the year, eh?
ReplyDeleteGreat job on keeping me up to date on all the Psylocke, the nerd in me really appreciates it! Everytime I open the page and there's an update, I am actually so happy it's not even funny, aha. Oh, easily entertained.
But this year's been great for Betsy, even if she hasn't really done that much. She's escaped the evil clutches of Chris Claremont at long last and now, perhaps, she can make an impact on 616. Long live Elisabetta!
Peace.
happy new year
ReplyDeletewelcome to 2010
here a gift for you guys
i love this psylocke costume

Let's see. Fav stories: Origin of the Species, Kill Matsu'o and Necrosha. Fav artist: Yanick Paquette. Fav writer: Yost. Fav quote: Psylocke is stronger and I'm going home.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Doom - Yes. Yanick Paquette does a beautiful Psylocke that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I would enjoy Fraction's run more if he had better artists. I absolutely loved Uncanny #512. I find Dodson's work dull and lifeless. And I don't even need to comment on Land's "art"...
ReplyDeleteI like that Psylocke costume in the pic that was posted by the anonymous person-and I love the recap. 2009 has been a great year for Psylocke and she hasn't even been back with the X-Men that long. I'm glad she's in the forefront-GO ELIZABETH!!!!
