Uncanny X-Men #513 Variant Cover

Marvel has revealed the variant cover to Uncanny X-Men #513 by Simone Bianchi. It's Psylocke vs. Ares! The God of War looks good. Psylocke... looks unusual.

  1. Dang! I mean, I love Psylocke and I know that psycwave is in love with this cover........but Dang! lol

Maybe it's a greek theme? You know, Ares God of War....maybe Betsy is to resemble a harpy or a gorgon?? ;)

  3. I think its really cool, unusual but cool. Psylocke always has the best covers. Hopefully we'll actually see this fight, Betsy is probably one of the only current x-men that could beat Ares anyway!

  4. exactly...i like the cover and betsy's maybe the only one who can defeat a god...but what about Sentry???? now we know he won't be her adversary but who can stand him?

  5. I like this cover, it's great that Betsy gets a cover with only herself and Ares (although I honestly don't think she's a match for Ares).

It's sad that even Bianchi, the man who reinvented the X-uniforms, still keeps her in the 90s ninja suit, though.

  7. Stop whining about Luckystar being a bitch. Her fans love her that way.

  8. LuckyStar, are you trolling yourself? lol

I thought that Bianchi drew a fugly Storm and a fugly Emma, but come on! ;D

The story is going to be mind-blowing though; I mean, Betsy vs A FRIGGIN GOD?!?! Yes!!! She will win, of course!!! ;)

  9. She has a point, though: Betsy's right foot looks like a ball or something. Her left foot barely appears in the cover, but it looks okay.

But aside from the right foot and the damn old ninja suit, I think Psylocke is gorgeous in this cover!

  13. It is an original cover. I like the coloring, but Betsy isn't beautiful here. Psylocke's depiction on the cover reminds me what one of the Furies from Greek Mythology would look like had they been depicted as an illustration.

  14. I think this is classic Psylocke because she is attacking someone by surprise and someone who nobody would think she would be powerul enough to defeat. It reminds me of when she defeated Omega Red or when she would directly attack someone like Magneto.

    Awesome

  15. Um... am I the only one who thinks that the art looks like Betsy used to be Kurt? The weird leg positioning, her hair in a bamfy state, and her sash looking kinda tail like? It's like the last minute they thought... nah, let's put Betsy there instead.

She looks very harpy like... ech. Well... here's to hoping she'll kick his @$$!

  16. I don't know if these blog's owners still read comments from old posts, but this information doesn't really fit in the newer ones.

Anyway, CBR has finally put the last IRON PATRIOTISM article, talking about Moonstone, Marvel Boy and Ares: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=21747

The article doesn't mention which x-man or x-woman (or group of x-men) will face each one of these Dark Avengers, but it does mention that Noh-Varr will be distracted by some pretty girls in the X-Men; Psylocke is a girl and a very pretty one, so he could be referring to her. Then again, we have this Uncanny #513 variant cover showing her against Ares, so it's still hard to know what she will be doing in Utopia...

Anyway, I hope this link allows CmX and LuckyStar to complete their Utopia recap! And I also hope to see some Utopia scans featuring Betsy!! (and some UXM #512 scans too, of course...)
