I don't like this thing. Not this issue, it's good, throughout the years Psylocke's been turned into a gloomy girl from Ancient Greece's tragedies.

I'm sure it will have a twist and major ramifications for the next arc...the whole team is in a very dark place right now....remender said The Final Execution is the gloomiest story he ever wrote...so it makes sense...and then he also states that Logan and Besty are going to come out of this in a very different place so maybe it's a good thing she comes in gloomy in this arc...
also curious to see if it's really Fanto to die how it will affect Psylocke.

This is pretty sucky. Warren and Betsy are my two favorite X-men and I feel like this is a slap in the face to the relationship that was built up over the first arc. If they had stuck with the whole "Betsy just wanted to be needed and didn't really love him anymore" thing it'd be one thing but they made a point of that scene on the rocks after the memory loss about how the two had talked about a future together, and Fantomex saying he made up the stuff about her questioning Warren.
The only way I like this is if they're just showing Betsy become self-destructive and mentally unhinged that she's willing to do this after everything she's been through. The solicits for 26 say she's going to visit Warren at the school so who knows. I just find this so contrived and saw no real reason why these two would be together.

I loved Betsy and Warren so was very apprehensive and rather opposed to a Betsy/Fantomex relationship but I think Remender has written the development of a relationship between these two characters really well and I have grown to love the idea and the character of Fantomex.

It's a new and refreshing relationship. I find him cheeky and quite a lovable rogue. I like that for Betsy and as much as I love ol Warren I actually find this more interesting. Like a typical girl I love a good romance and All good romances start of with a bit of friction between the couple which is born out of sexual tension leading to lots of will they won't they moments culminating in a big romantic or passionate conclusion.

And I thought it was very sexy what Betsy did, sexy characters are always more interesting. She's a sexy, strong and confident woman and that's why I love her character!

I agree though there will be ramifications to come.

I really don't want Fantomex or Betsy to be killed off in the next few issues but I have a bad feeling Jean Phillipe may be the one for the chop.

I'm going to be so disappointed, I grown to love him.

My opinion doesn't count for much since I haven't kept up since after the conclusion to the Archangel saga - though I do have every issue, including this one, just haven't read, BUT I know the gist of what's been going down. The Betsy/Warren relation was by far my favorite of the entire Marvel universe. Only basing off of the panels and what I think I know from past issues, it seems to me that Betts is desiring to want to "feel" something, anything, right now. So, in that regard I actually feel bad for Fantomex. He does care for her in a more-than-friends way but I can not imagine after EVERYTHING that has happened in the very near past of not so long ago (few weeks, I'd guess) that our beloved Betsy is capable of loving anyone right now. It's truly sad and Remender has done something amazing with our favorite girl.

Again, my opinion here, but I strongly feel that there could never be any romantic relationship between these two. However, I can see the possiblity of Psylocke using him as a means to feel again, to get rid of the numbness. No passion from her. No love. Just sex and believe me there is absolutely a difference. Worst of all is that it always ends badly, especially for the person being used, which would be Fantomex.

But what do I know? I could be way off. lol

I have go to catch up when I get some free time.

Mystique is about to show up, so it would be great if it was her other than Betsy.

There is a lot planned for Psylocke in the next couple of months, so death for her is probably pretty much out of the question. Plus she's been there and done that. Remender mentioned once that she could be the greatest of all the telepaths and with that kind of power and ALL of the loss she's ever faced (body swapping, loss of powers, death, re-setting the man she loved, and murdering Jamie with Brian's hands), I van see her going down a terribly dark road. I think see finds solace in Fantomex, especially since the loss of her "sorrow".

Did anyone notice she looked very Dark Queeny? This is very reminiscent of the alternate timeline when Betsy loses her emotions and becomes the Red Queen. Also, it's reminiscent of her emotional capacity when she was marked by the Crimson Dawn. Interesting since she's been "accidentally" sporting the Crimson Dawn Tattoo on some cover art lately.

I totally agree with what JL81790 said.

I love Betsy and Warren, as a couple and as individuals and so far, what is happening with Fantomex feels like a real slap in the face.

I agree that it could also be a means to an end, so I'm willing to hold out and see what happens but so far, not good. After everything that has been done to this character my patience is starting to wear a little thin and although I enjoy Fantomex as a character I don't enjoy the prospect of any sort of relationship any time soon.

I agree 100% SoulTapestry. Psylocke has been through hell and I could see her going over the edge, she already warned Fantomex in this issue that if she had any sorrow at all, she would have already crossed that line. I really enjoyed that series as Psylocke as the Red Queen however I feel writers are trying to move Psylocke into a more "evil villian" role. She's erased or killed some of the people closest to her. Who wouldn't she kill?? Is Betsy the same woman who would have fought to save a child in issue #4 of Uncanny X-Force???

so happy the artist has changed since the otherworld arc. They finally had an arc involving Betsy and her family and I was so excited, but the art totally killed it for me. It was horrible! most of the art looked like unfinished sketches that were thrown together and sloppily colored. the art is much better in this issue!

I agree that the previous arc's art was very sketchy, but those cover arts were gorgeous at least. That cpver artist should be one of the main artists for UXF.

I'm also happy the artist changed too though but Phil Noto's art isn't making me happy either. Everyone else but Betsy looks great; why does she look so un-pretty? >_<

Another thing that kind of bugs me is that the implication here is that she sleeps with him because she has her sorrow, and remorse, and guilt removed. Doesn't that imply that her loyalty to Warren was based around those things? Remender said he thought that Warren and Betsy were meant to be together and that they loved each other. Betsy didn't lose her ability to love, and THAT is what should've keep her away from Fantomex, not feeling bad about what it would've meant for Warren.
